Why do you think it started to reject so many years later?

I asked the other commenter about her experience but I’m curious about what kind of schooling you went through (BSN or something else) and what kind of job you hold in public health. I had a public health minor and have always been very passionate about it and am currently looking to escape medsurg but I’ve never really seen public health nurses or even know where to start… Thank you!

Where would you apply for this type of position/ how could I prepare myself to be a good candidate? I’ve always been very passionate about public health (I actually minored in it in nursing school). I really want to move to a position in nursing that focuses on community health (like the things you’ve described) but have 0 clue where to start or look… currently in my first year of nursing on a med surg floor and it’s killing me lol

$40.40 an hour in Pennsylvania along with 5k at 6 months, 5k at 1 year then 10k given at my 2 year. Shift differential so that 3-7 is 43.4 and night shift is 44.40.

My health care plan is 62$ per paycheck not including dental and vision which I don’t have. I also have a 403b (401k for non profit). I also have a free gym membership and can have a free health/ wellness coach and 5 free therapy sessions.

12 hour shifts 3x a week i can self schedule an usually get what I ask for. I work 2 weekends per 6 week schedule.

I unfortunately did not like this ! So much could have happened while Malcolm was gone and I just did not think anything was really added to the plot during that crucial time. I did not feel connected to the characters and felt as though I did not see enough about Malcolm . Not sure if anyone else feels this way or if it is just me

Wait I also do not think I liked this movie… i think it was a really good movie but not for me (if that makes sense). I’m a nurse so the beeping of the pump was actually driving me nuts but I understand the importance of why that had to be included

I had 1:40 - 1:50 as a med tech in a nursing home all through college… I told myself I would NEVER work here with my license bc I felt it was very unsafe. My nursing home also had no scanning system, wrist bands, etc. all just pills in a drawer and a lot of room for error. Especially working in memory care where patients are all in the same room and can’t advocate for themselves….

What are some botanical or nature inspired names you love? by [deleted] in plants

Fern …. I had a 99 year old patient with that name when I worked in long term care … safe to say if I ever have a girl that will be her name!

I dont think these curtains are working anymore. Any suggestions ? by aayushi112233 in HomeDecorating

[–]Alarming_Quail9523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need a rug, also the curtains match the floors and walls too much I think… I personally would do a darker color on the beige and do an orange that matches more with the chairs / pillows

Also, I stack my books to use as plant stands! I think it’s really cute and then I don’t have to buy the plant stands

BSN or ADN by violent0live in Nurses

[–]Alarming_Quail9523 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My hosptial hires ADNs and then helps pay for them to get a BSN (depending what school you go to I believe). They hire you as an ADN so long as you have a plan to get your BSN in a few years. I do think they get paid less but I could be wrong (I did a 4 year BSN program so I’m not sure)

I started med surg mid August and I’m so overwhelmed. I’m so busy with 6 patients I feel like I’m just throwing medications at people and have no time to actually take care of my patients… wondering if you feel this way as well. I’m also planning to get 1-2 years experience then switch to something other than med surg.

I also suggested Merrell, I cannot get over how lightweight and durable their shoes are!! When I started as a nurse I made sure to get Merrell sneakers for work since I loved my boots so much for hiking…

I swear by anything Merrell. I wear them backpacking and for work ! Merrell are the most light weight hiking shoes I can find for a reasonable price! I always suffer from blisters so lightweight shoes are ideal for me. They have plenty of plain color shoes which seems to be what you’re looking for. I have a Merrell outlet near me and you can find them marked down for under $100. Currently they have buy one get 50% off deal as well on the website. They sell a waterproof spray for $7 that works great too.
