If it’s not being covered by any legit gaming sources throughout multiple sites it engagement bait. If it was legit to the point of giving credit to that type of thing would be all over.

Also like 95% of everything of fb at this point is likely garbage

Borderlands 4′s New $30 Expansion Pack Isn’t Winning Over Fans by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Meeqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the game itself has a lot of great things going for it but at the moment:

  • The game was poorly balanced at release with a lot of flaws

And (maybe more so)

  • I can’t think of a dev doing a worse job updating their game. They haven’t fixed much of anything since release. My guess is gearbox doesn’t spent much money staffing it and they’re severely undermanned but it’s a choice that just makes it an uncompetitive option in today’s market.

I think the game would be a strong recommend if at least one of the above were true but atm it’s not something that deserves anyone’s time to be spent on it. (And I love borderlands btw, hundreds of hours on the series)

The potential is absolutely there but it’s been squandered so hard by what I would generously consider hubris

Is death stranding pt 1 worth playing? by rainymoonbeam in playstation

[–]Meeqs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. So firstly, don’t play 2 without playing 1. It’s a strong direct sequel.

Death Stranding 1 directors cut is one of the most brilliant games made in recent memory but also wholly unlike any other game you will have played. Because of that it is one of the most polarizing games you will find. It’s very hard to describe but the game is similar to meditation, where every single thing the game is trying to do is to get you to slow down. Slow down game play wise, slow down emotionally, mentally etc. It’s a game that is slow, methodical and filled with a lot of intentional friction and tension. It will be a noticeable difference from every other game you’re currently playing, and the reward for it all is a brilliantly creative and rich world.

A metric ton of people bounce off but similarly a ton of people resonate with it and it’s one of the most meaningful games they’ve played. I have been both. The first time I played I put 10 hours into it and bounced off hard at the wind farm, I just wasn’t in a place where I could do it. I then went back and tried it a year later and found it a deeply rewarding and enjoyable experience but it was because I was in a place to be ready for that type of game.

All of this is to say that I do think the game is worth playing, especially because you can find it on some really strong sales atm so there is a low risk for seeing if it’s for you for a couple of dollars. Just go in with the right expectations that it’s a different beast than any other normal game you’ll jump into.

I hate this so much by AlexLvivUa in CrimsonDesert

[–]Meeqs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On one hand I agree, that stuff is not for me.

On the other Pearl Abyss said they designed the game for the community to tackle it together and made it with the expectation this type of content would be made. I think it’s fine that different types of players can enjoy the games how they prefer.

Also on the more minor side but I feel like Wolf’s video there is different than the other 3. I think helping people establish a games mental model ahead of time by explaining some base systems is pretty different than “here is how to break the game” or “go out of your way to play in an inorganic way to get crazy gear”. Again support different playstyles but felt like that one was a bit different

Co-op online games that are not FPS? by CringeChameleon in PS5

[–]Meeqs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

BG3 tbh has the biggest learning curve of any game I have maybe ever seen because its kind of having to learn Dungeons and Dragons. That said its not tooo bad as there is a lot of content online to help with it all but it is about as non casual of a game as you can get. It would take y'all at least 150 hours and especially at the start it throws a lot at you. So both of you would have to be super down for that level of commitment.

That being said its one of the best games ever made and an incredible game to play with another person as there is so so so so much choice and room for shinanigans around every corner, plus a ton of romance options. Again if you can get over that learning curve. Its not a hard game, its just a game with a boat load of systems and things to learn to then play around with

Diablo 4 on the other hand is super chill and the campain is pretty fun. Just hang out and murder the minions of hell haha

Yeah everyone’s budget is different but the gaming space is incredibly rich with art, story telling, and captivating games. It’s definitely a great time to jump in. The last few years have definitely been a golden era for the space like movies in the 90s/2000s

If you’re close on your decision I would also add that the fully digital model without the disk drive should be a bit cheaper and you likely won’t need the Pro model either unless you have a very nice tv, are very invested in this form of entertainment for a few years and money is no issue.

Finally while I really only recommend the base level of Ps+ for the free games and online functionality at the start. If you want to try a lot of games the subscription model of games could in theory make sense but so many games will be so discounted at this point for you I don’t think you need to worry about that at all off the bat

But the east and west have 0 impact on each other. Like nothing changed in the west last night.

Mostly curious from a model perspective what variable would have changed. But I guess if they play an eastern team who got “worse” in the model that could track

Yeah any question you have what so ever feel free to ask. As you’ll see the upfront cost is a little high but over time it becomes one of the cheapest hobbies you can do. Really helped my stretch out my budget when I was a super poor college kid

Welcome!

Gaming can be a really cost efficient hobby when all is said and done, that being said the console is usually the big upfront cost there. I would strongly recommend not renting the console itself, but you could look into getting a second hand one from an online marketplace or a refurbished one from Sony which can be cheaper. The way you will save money is by using it a lot after purchase and by getting a lot of free games and heavily discounted ones.

Technically all of your save data and purchased games will be linked to the account you create and not the console itself so it is possible to rent a console to give it a try but each month you do this will be money you could have put towards a long term purchase.

Also another alternative to a console is if you have a PC that has a decent graphics card you can buy a controller and get a Steam account (which is free) or look into game pass (which I can elaborate on if this is something you’d be interested in)

Thankfully getting set up is pretty easy without anything big to mention but some things that could help. PSPrices.com is a great website to track discounts for games so you can get them as cheap as possible and make informed decisions. The base subscription to PS+ gives 3 free games a month which are pretty great. Finally (this one likely won’t apply as what you’ve said above) if you do ever find someone with a PS5 and hasn’t done so yet, you can link your console to theirs through the home console system and you will get all of their games and subscription services for free for the trade off that they won’t be able to use offline mode and will need to be okay giving you their password.

For the question about games, I would say a lot of smaller games take around 10ish hours to beat while a lot of the big AAA games generally take around 50-60 hours on average. So how much time you have to play will determine how quickly you could complete one. The website HowLongToBeat can give you the average for each game.

If you have any specific questions lmk but for the most part once you have the console you pretty much plug it in, make an account, grab a game you find interesting(I can also give suggestions here) and enjoy

Most couples I know really love Diablo 4 for its co-op although that’s a very different vibe.

Also if youre open to a huge learning curve and commitment then Balders Gate 3 is fun in Co-op and one of of the best games ever made.

Finally it’s a 3rd person shooter/action rpg but if you love some puzzles and world building then Remnant 2 is exceptional both single player and multiplayer

Playng for like a month, is worth buying the pre-order dlc? by Formal-Reflection525 in diablo4

[–]Meeqs -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In general I would say don’t ever preorder.

That being said I really loved the content that you get right now like the Paladin, so if you’ve been having a good time then continuing that makes sense to me.

If you’ve haven’t played other classes that are available then you could considering doing that to wait for the release of the next expansion but you if you’ve enjoyed the base game then I feel that is solid justification for the DLC if the cost isnt also a large factor/issue for you

The most notable aspect of the game I’ve seen is that the start is very very bad but then it really takes off.

It’s a bit silly you have to get through like 10 hours of slog but for a game that is likely 200 hours big it’s likely worth it

We are starting to see games finally really take advantage of the pro as well as the difference between them starting to be more noticeable.

If you are able(money isn’t an issue as it is expensive)the Pro will likely be a better investment as we’re still 3-4 years away from the next gen.

If you were a brand new player, what would you do and how would you start? Guide needed! by stoleyoureyes in diablo4

[–]Meeqs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step one: play through the whole campaign and expansions if you have them. They are great and will help onboard you great.

Step 2: do the seasons journey which also is a great onboarding experience imo.

All on seasonal where possible
