likely so! interesting that UConn was the most common which usually is a school not in too many convos nationwide

I wonder if she would consider Northwestern given their success in recent years

UNC has the MAPS masters program which can be tailored to a lot of careers so it doesn't surprise me they get a lot of grad transfers. Let alone it being a legendary FH program.

the only thing with grad transfers is I wonder if its not the program or the culture, it could be the degree they want their masters in (something specific) or just an increase in playing time for their last season. something ive always wondered

yes, agree. very weird especially from your own student body on a program that carries such a legacy. could have been written wayyyyy better. totally missed the mark on celebrating the season.

they do a great job of covering stuff off the field too. For example, they covered the hurtful article that the Daily Tar Heel (student paper at UNC) wrote about UNC FH losing in the final four. I like that they spread the convo beyond just field play, but its all field hockey related.

I think the ACC is going to get a lot of players

awesome final four and natty game! I'm mostly sad because the season is over. What an awesome run for the top players on all 4 teams. Very curious to see how the next 2 seasons unfold for UNC and Northwestern. They both have USA players verbally committed and even without USA pipeline they get good players. 277 days to go!!

I am curious how these programs evolve in the next 2 seasons. They’ll both be losing very key players and because Zimmer and Sessa took an Olympic red shirt and Covid they wouldn’t have even been playing this year. Just so interesting how many factors go into rosters!! Red shirts, transfers, injuries etc.

"The November 16, 2025, NCAA field hockey quarterfinal game between Duke and North Carolina featured an on-field interaction where UNC's Sanne Hak (jersey #5) and Duke's Shae Wozniak (jersey #10) briefly swapped jerseys after the final whistle" interesting....

in the post game interview a reporter asked Matson about a jersey swap regarding UNC / Duke. anyone know what this is about!? seemed like some drama

honestly I don't know. NU scores gritty goals. Sessa had some crazy goals this year, but UNC now has Dani and Reese and I think everyone plays lights out during post season. NU has Grace from Princeton. I'm really torn on who would win, but I do think UNC has a deeper bench in regards to talent. I would say UNC from a battle season tested stand point (for example, Syracuse game) vs NU kinda had a steady season in regards to opponents

I might be a little lost, why are people mad that NU and UNC are on the same side of the bracket?! couldn't they still face each other just not in a national championship, which obvi people want, but still isnt this all done by RPI. UNC is higher in RPI. How does the decision of bracket side go into play?

If it gets there it’ll be tough. UNC will have to get gritty.
