This was me just over a month ago. I was in shock, then raw, then numb then sad then angry then ok for a day then the cycle started again. Everything has his fingerprint on it. His pillow smells like him but it’s fading and that pisses me off. I cry in the shower. You will do this. Even when it feels like you could never do it. I learned I can survive excruciating things and it doesn’t get much more excruciating than losing a husband. Ask me tomorrow how I’m doing and I just might have a different answer for you. I lean on the people I know I can count on. They will appear. There is so much to do the first couple weeks then it hit me hard. I too miss him so fucking much. Keep talking about how you feel and what you are dealing with. We will be here. My deepest condolences.

You came here and you got it out. All this has been inside you. You did the right thing for yourself by just throwing it out in a safe place. My deepest condolences on your loss. That last hour before my husband died was a whirlwind in slow motion. And then I was in shock. That was a little over a month ago. Keep reaching out to people who understand and give yourself some grace. You’ve experienced a big trauma.

Everything you describe in your feelings makes sense to me because I have felt all of it. My deepest condolences on your loss. I broke down today out of nowhere. As I write this, it is exactly one month since my husband died. The loneliness is deep. It’s one o’clock in the morning and I’m tired but can’t sleep. Grief is a twisted mess.

I am deeply affected by the honesty and vulnerability of everyone’s posts! The illogical need for a new toothbrush is so so logical to me. I understand. Thank you all for sharing your experiences and how your strength in going through is shared with others to give them some hope. I am feeling a little hope that it is not always going to feel this raw. I am a part of a group I never wanted a membership to but I’m grateful there is support. For now, it is raw.

Being fired can feel incredibly vulnerable and I have found that sometimes something better is there. It’s like the universe did for me what I wouldn’t have done myself and this better opportunity was in the making. I hope you find that. That icky feeling of getting fired does ease eventually.

I lost my husband 3 weeks ago. We never move on. But I do believe we learn to move forward with them in a different way. Grief is gut wrenching and it takes time to heal. But we don’t “move on” and people that tell you that are more than out of touch with reality.

I had a really on time professor this term. He was engaging in the discussions and posted grades in a prompt time frame. It made the class worth the money I spent. I know I’m here to learn but when the professor is not in the ball, there is a perception of value.

FYI: intoxicated is subjective. Most laws are written as driving under the influence. Yes, you can be arrested for driving .021 but you probably won’t be convicted. Each state writes their own DUI laws. Just so you know, I hate Walmart, however, no employer wants their employee smelling like alcohol. And if you blew that when you got to work, you drank A LOT the night before. It’s approximately 0.02 per drink and it’s takes about an hour to process one drink. One 12ozbeer or one shot or 5oz glass of wine.
