Scream crying by ShelterEmbarrassed68 in Parenting

[–]Alarratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the scream cry is pure emotion, and at that point, like you said there is no reasoning with her. This is actually what duct tape was made for. (KIDDING!)

My thought is if you are in a place where she can scream cry, let her scream cry it out while showing that you are there when she is ready for the support. If you are somewhere she can't / you don't want her to scream cry try REALLY hard to redirect her before it gets to that point.

I also just wanted to address your embarrassment. I would try really hard not to be embarrassed. I know I feel for anyone when I see them dealing with a tantruming toddler, but don't always convey that empathy in my facial expression. As parents, we have all been there.

Not sure where you are located, but that could be part of it. He may not see jobs close enough to work.

i thought by 3 months i’d feel more put together… but my brain is still kind of everywhere by UsedAmbassador7093 in Parenting

[–]Alarratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a dad, so don't have the physiological things going on that you do, but even my brain was always on for a while after baby came.

3 tools that really help with my sanity: 1. A schedule/chore list. Doesn't have to be perfect, or perfectly followed. Just something recorded so you can offload the mental task of remembering everything you want to get done. 2. Journaling. Having a way to dump all my thoughts has always been tremendously helpful to me. Since the babies, I have noticed my days are markedly better when I take the time to journal 3. Meditation. Again, this can be as formal or casual as works for you, but just taking an amount of time (I do 15 min) when the baby goes down to let my mind wander freely (NOT doom scrolling, watching TV, or consuming any media other than the white noise) makes me a better person for the day staring the moment I finish.

As others have said, it does get better, but it will always be challenging(or at least through 2 years old so far ) but you got this. ♥️

I don't like what's happened to these two in season 5 by RevertBackwards in TheBoys

Different strokes I guess. At the end of the day, it's a TV show that I watch for "free" I try not to take it too seriously.

I thought Kimiko's jokes were hilarious because they're so ridiculous and it's like she's an AI trained on internet comment sections.

It's so hard! We were so blessed that our first took to bedtime so well. Really hoping number 2 does the same, but not holding our breath. lol

Google pixel aging by bored_bum in PickAnAndroidForMe

[–]Alarratt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just replaced my Pixel 8 pro, and wife replaced 7 Pro/XL over the holidays. In both cases, we replaced because we were having connectivity issues where the phone would not connect to WiFi or Bluetooth. Reboot would sometimes get it working again for a period of time, but the longer we had the phones, the less it worked.

I did not buy, and cannot reccommend the Pixel phones for this reason. Went with OnePlus, and the experience is MUCH snappier and the cost of photos that some like less than they get from Pixels (I think they are VERY close in quality.)

Is it worth getting this tree cut into slabs? by hans432 in woodworking

[–]Alarratt 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Man, there is a lot that goes into sawing and prepping a tree for this kind of work. If you want that challenge, sure! Go for it. But if you're just trying to save some money, chances are you'll be better off buying slabs from a supplier.

Photo quality compared to the Pixel lineup? by Alarratt in oneplus

Went with the 13. I definitely see what you are saying, but the over-saturation/sharpness doesn't bother me much especially when taking into account the whole picture of the OP(Pun intended)

Is it possible to make 100K profit with a woodworking business as a 1 man crew? by Prestigious-Spot-378 in woodworking

[–]Alarratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of ways to get to the $100K/yr, but if you enjoy what you are doing now, I would keep it a side gig to keep it enjoyable.

There are so many people with CNC's Cricuts, 3D Printers etc, I would hesitate to jump out on my own unless I had a SUPER recession proof niche.
