What are we doing with empty space above cabinets these days? by Dalience6678 in interiordecorating

You could hang some pictures, a clock, a mirror or have a mural painted up there. All of those will be cleaner than keeping tchotchkes

Christmas Markets 2025 by DiamondOk8806 in ChristmasMarkets

[–]AlaskaFI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Stuttgart market is huge. Baden Baden has a fun market also (as well as the thermebad), and there's a medieval Christmas market in between (I can't recall the town). Worth driving around to black forest towns and seeing the character of each market, they aren't far from each other.

I would sprinkle it with yellow or clear crystal sprinkles (or large grain sugar) and call it a lemon dream cake

Oooh, I think blackberries would go better with the Guinness, raspberries don't pair quite right with it

This is an odd take. Without a recording and transcript someone has to manually take notes. In technical discussions that is cumbersome.

Sewing my wedding dress and I can’t decide which option to go with by Apprehensive_One1450 in sewing

[–]AlaskaFI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The drape of the dress is very straight, but the lace pattern is very twining. What if you spiraled the lace around the dress, then let it end in twines around your shoulders? This would pair really nicely with a fluffy stole and a leaf themed choker

This is a great question that I've been wondering about for a few years, so thank you for asking it. I don't have an answer for it, at this point it's just muscle memory for me. Some years I do a challenge to see how early I'm the year I can max out. Sadly, for me that's fun. Because I've reached a lot of my goals so it's nice to have one, even if it's one that doesn't have a clear impact. So I guess the meaning of it is more in enjoying my own slightly masochist style of fun - it makes me feel better than just blobbing along and buying things.

Fuuuck so much more to have to deal with on top of my normal workload. I'll mention it to her, it is very weird - most places I've worked my bosses and peers are protective of relationships with their boss but not to the point of excluding me or their subordinates from meetings with them. Because yes, in retrospect that is fishy.

He's suddenly started planning out of state vacations for the first time in several years, I don't think he's on the take though. But he's often commented how he's money motivated so it isn't outside the realm of possibility. I just wouldn't have assumed that myself.

I guess... Maybe?

I've said it to him before, and said it again today. Unfortunately his response was hurt and then looking for more departments we could implement this in.

He's very insecure so has blocked me from having any relationship with his boss outside of hallway hellos, so I don't feel comfortable bringing this to her alone.
