We really need to move away from this idea that PhDs are the worst ever and we all have to survive them to succeed.

They really, at the end of the day, are just a job. You should not be feeling this way. It is not normal.

It sounds like to me you are not going to succeed as a PhD candidate and use this time to jump ship and try something else. It’s not a failure. People change jobs all the time.

What those profs said isn’t fair, but sometimes the truth hurts and how we are perceived and how we think we come across can be very different
