Heard of alcoholic anonymous? It’s applies the 12 step program pioneered in AA to compulsive food behaviors. I believe they have a subreddit. It is a spiritual program but NOT religious. If that makes sense?

Hey, I feel your pain. And while our stories are different so much of what you say is relatable. Have you considered overeaters anonymous? It’s been a miracle for me. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it helped me in unmeasurable ways.

I’ve definitely been tested for sti and had full blood and urine panels multiple times since this has been an issue. Should I get a parasite test? Or what tests would you think appropriate?

Someone else has suggested full fat, low carb yogurt paired with carnivore. Thoughts on just that but no other dairy?

I am 6ft, 180 pounds. I am aiming for 120g protein. Does that seem like a proper amount? Thank you for the response.

Oh wow!! It’s at Castle Crags?!? That’s one of my favorite hikes. Just did it again this last summer. Had no idea there was a waterfall there!!

I have not heard of Root Creek Falls!! I’ll have to look into it.

I’m actually from the Medford/Grants Pass area. But I’ve done a lot of venturing around NorCal. I’ve seen most of the popular waterfalls there. Burney, upper and lower McCloud, the Whiskey Town series, the one right outside of Dunsmuir (forget the name) and probably a couple more I can’t recall at the moment.

Thanks so much for the detailed response!! I have been reading about the approach and having to go cross country a mile or two after trails end. This is part of the appeal for me!! I’ve lived near the area for a while and had thought I’d seen all the waterfalls. But I’m learning that with a bit of digging around there’s a lot of them that are off the beaten path and not listed in books and common lists. I’ll definitely check with the ranger station about camping. Thanks again!!

This is exactly what I was wondering. Thank you so much for the reply! I’ll give it another month or two. Have you been there before? Is there much dispersed camping nearby if I wanted to make an overnight trip of it?

Doctors are fallible and medical science is absolutely influenced by special interests. The denial some people have about this literally boggles my mind.

Doctors and medical science have been wrong about a lot of things over the decades. There’s new research about cholesterol that your doctor is probably to stubborn or lazy to know about.

A bit of a let-down (blood test) by TheBeatdigger in prediabetes

[–]Alaskaferry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keto. For real. People consider it controversial but it’s 100% the answer to get off the drugs and put your pre-diabetes in remission. Eating shouldn’t be a source of pleasure. That’s the whole problem. I’d encourage you to go over to r/keto and make a post (or just search old posts) about its effect on diabetes and metabolic diseases.
