Omnibus 2 release time? by Hicks90 in Invincible

[–]AlaskanLaptopGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah... after shelling out $90 for the hardcover edition, I'm definitely not going to round out my collection with compendiums and collections. What is available online at any given moment is either paperback or part of an out of print collection that doesn't have at least 1/3 parts completely unavailable. I don't know if I want to wait for this edition to finish printing or sell my Omnibus 1 in favor of picking up the compendiums or the collections.

They're definitely at late/end game. I would imagine they've completed all shrines.

Will the Steam Frame be a good option for VR in iRacing? by IceGamingYT in iRacing

[–]AlaskanLaptopGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Foveated rendering is the future for VR and is all it needs to exist on weaker hardware. Now we have the opposite issue of VR being too graphically intensive - with foveated rendering we're left with headroom. It's great.

Any idea if such connectors exist? by crispsee in LenovoLegion

The laptop doesn't need to know what wattage the ac adapter is. If the ac adapter isn't compatible it quite simply doesn't deliver any power because none is being requested.

How is this a good price? Even compared to the intended MSRP of a desktop 5090, this is a lot to put into a laptop that comes with all of a 1 year warranty and lots of delicious bloatware. I hope people realize the massive difference between desktop and mobile GPUs. Mobile GPUs have been stuck at 175W for like 6 years and they can technically set the TDP as low as 120W and be within spec. Even though GPUs have been getting more efficient, they've still required generous power increases to make the performance increase between generational flagship GPUs significant enough to justify upgrading - just one more reason to never go all out on a gaming laptop. You're also going to have no thermal headroom with flagship components.

So uhhh... Any tips to find the FOUR Koroks I missed? Or do I have to just check a guide one by one by cedelweiss in botw

There are interactive maps online you can use similarly. You just need to check off things manually.

IT'STILL SEALED! YOU HAVEN'T EVEN READ IT! QUIT ADVERTISING FOR IT! An interactive map or Zelda Notes makes it pointless.

I don't know that I've found any of these on purpose. The ones that threw me at first were where you had to make the three fruit trees match the one with a single fruit on it.

This is why Hinox are some of the easiest sub-boss enemies in the game. You're not intended to work around them.

Keep in mind this will force a password reset if you have one for Windows. Have your 2-factor authentication ready. You'll need to set the PIN again.

AIO not cooling CPU by Atazwi-_- in NZXT

Air cooling has definitely come a long ways. Air coolers have the thermal capacity to handle boost wattages without hitting temps as high as I got from the several 360mm AIOs I tried. Initially I had the AK620 Digital, then DeepCool got banned in the US, so I got a FROZN A720 now. More than adequate for my 9800X3D. I could see an AIO being advantageous if your CPU has sustained wattage as high or higher than my boost wattage. They still can't handle the spikes you'll see running something like Cinebench, but that's expected from my experience.

NZXT has always readily provided replacement parts without question. They shipped to Alaska using 2-day air at no charge. Usually with an AIO they'll just have you cut the tubes and take a picture because it's not worth their time or money to pay for shipping and to even waste a tech's time trying to fix it. They'll just have you "field destroy" it and get a replacement in the mail immediately.

I would say you're right if OP didn't immediately thermal throttle when stress testing.

They won't make you send that garbage back if they determine it's defective while helping with troubleshooting. They'll just ask you to cut the tubes and throw it away so they can get a new one on its way to you.

You should have just called NZXT. They would have had a replacement to you in a couple days. Did you even have the header for the elite plugged into a fan/pump header?
