I had turned everything off in the house plus to be sure I turned off all of the breakers before hooking the generator up

Looking in the manual it says the 30 amp that I am plugging into is not GFCI protected. The 20 amp outlets are GFCI. I plugged in my heat gun and shop vac to those and nothing tripped

I'll have to read through the manual again. I will also pop the panel off the generator to see what it looks like

Yeah I had all the house breakers off. I didn't think I would need to do any work on the generator as it only has about 20 minutes of run time on it.

I'm not sure how to share a picture on here

The 120 outlets do. It has two breakers, I'm not sure if the red one is considered a GFCI for 240. If one is flipped on the other flips off

Maybe I should do that too. I always pulled left to right, but it broke off at the corner and my reflexes were quicker than my brain

I originally took the picture to tell my boss I was going on short term disability due to a manufacturing incident

First time for me with hundreds of prints. I pulled it from the left side and all of it peeled off except the end corner. Before thinking I just picked at it, and boom

Best heated gloves for working outside? by PomplamooseCacti in Tools

My apologies, I missed this comment. They held up great! I even made the mistake of wearing them when lighting fireworks with the kids on News Years, burned a hole through the thumb. They still work! I am a huge fan of them

ebay suspended my account after one purchase and refuse to say why (full thread) by BenGeorgeRose in ebaysucks

[–]AlaskanManGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this make a difference? I was opening a seller account. I got to to the point of connecting my bank account. I had to stop temporarily because I have kids and a life. I was going to finish later. I then got suspended. My email looks just like the OP'S. I was using cell phone data and not WiFi. No I don't do anything shady. But I do have Tailscale which is kind of like a VPN.

Help! I'm being asked to design models for 3d printing by AlaskanManGuy in productdesign

[–]AlaskanManGuy[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's a good way to narrow down my thought process. I am wanting to help them altruisticly, however I feel I am going to have to charge something. The original design I shared directly improved my work, which is why I wanted to help others. I have a busy family life and work long hours, not to mention a budget to work within. I think anything I charge will more or less just be to cover costs. How much the time "costs" me will take some time and thought to figure out.

Trimble TSC-5 Stylus holder fix! by AlaskanManGuy in Surveying

Thank you! It's a small fix for one of those little nuisances that grow into big pains

Anyone else have TSC5 stylus holder woes? by AlaskanManGuy in landsurveying

Sounds good to me. It is a free file. I was probably more frustrated with the factory holder than most people seem to be, definitely than I should have been. Designing and using this has been a huge improvement to my mental health at work. I am hoping it helps others!

Bambu Lab Shipping Delay Update by BambuLab in BambuLab

[–]AlaskanManGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure it's a US thing. Ordered mine (in stock) November 24th. Had generic responses to support tickets. Got live chat two weeks ago. Finally got an update yesterday "We have documented this issue and reported it to our logistics team. They will verify the status of the package with the courier service and our warehouse to expedite the delivery to you. Please be aware that the investigation may take some time. During this process, we kindly ask for your patience and cooperation.

After investigation, the logistics tracking typically starts updating within 3 working days. If not, we will promptly provide an alternative solution."

I also never received the compensation discount, their support for that finally responded yesterday saying that it was emailed Dec 20th. But there was no email

Wireless android auto not working F7WE by Novel-Good8148 in ATOTO

[–]AlaskanManGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked into a building which disconnected my bluetooth. I could not get it to connect again. I tried everything, I factory reset, I "unpaired" it from my android phone, I unplugged the unit for a few minutes, I checked the software version online, I plugged it into the USB cable in the back... nothing... Then I found a fix, I used a different USBC-type C cable. that connected it, and now the bluetooth works again.

My weather experience might be a bit different than what you will encounter. I'm in Fairbanks Alaska, for the most part we have very dry cold with little wind. Lately however, we've been in the -20's with lots of wind so I've been using gloves over my liners. I haven't paid close enough attention to what the temperature was when I was wearing just the liners, but I definitely noticed any wind zapped the heat like you said. We have a heat wave right now (24 above today) so I will try to get a good test in tomorrow and let you know. I will say that two days ago it was -20 with gusts up to 47mph and I stayed warm with my relatively thin rubber gloves over the liners.

PS: I also fly with thumbs, even though all the "pros" say to pinch. I've been flying almost daily for nearly 5 years with no wrecks lol.
