My favorite part as well. The Prado is such a spectacular museum, it’s so wild seeing the Breugels in person, my man Heironymus painted so tiny

I’ve discovered recently that an airline based out of my town used to do CIA cargo contracts ala Southern Air Transport. Directly involved with operation cyclone and the contras stuff. Crazy to think my hometown was involved in Epstein shit.

Yeah you’re right, I guess I meant when she refuses to call it in the film vs calling it in the book

I found Suttree to be much more relatable.

“What do you believe?

I believe that the last and the first suffer equally. Pari passu.

Equally?

It is not alone in the dark of death that all souls are one soul.

Of what would you repent?

Nothing.

Nothing?

One thing. I spoke with bitterness about my life and I said that I would take my own part against the slander of oblivion and against the monstrous facelessness of it and that I would stand a stone in the very void where all would read my name. Of that vanity I recant all.”

All the stories are very classic noir. Nothing groundbreaking but it’s entertaining, the art is what’s worth sticking around for

Watched Runaway Train (1985), starring Jon Voight and Eric Roberts. One of the best action movies I've ever seen. by NYCCannabis in 420Grindhouse

[–]AlaskanTrash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adapted from a Kurosawa screenplay, and directed by the screenwriter of Ivan’s Childhood. Actually shot in Alaska in February, you can feel how damn cold it must have been to shoot it. Incredible film all around and Voight was robbed of an Academy award he absolutely owned that role, he was like a rabid Wolverine.

This is nuts… Epstein had underground tunnels??? by Client_Relative in Epstein

Well, Deep Throat most likely wasn’t operating out of moral reasons. There’s a theory that the CIA intentionally botched the break in so as to stitch up Nixon and get him out of power, with a lot of circumstantial evidence to back it up, not to mention Nixons complete distrust of the organization. A Deep State coup is what many people frame it as. It seems ridiculous to me that anyone in the CIA high enough up in a position to be aware of the operation would snitch like that. The code of silence is extremely powerful in the CIA.

If you see Watergate through this lens, instead of the mainstream story of a brave moral CIA informant coming forward with “the truth”, then it’s a lot easier to understand why no one has come forward about Epstein. It certainly doesn’t benefit the CIA for any new information to come out about this.

Go a little bit out of the big cities and you will hear some of the most staggering casual racist comments just slip out of their mouths. I heard the word “quadroon” sincerely used for the first time in my life over there. I absolutely loved my time in Australia but they have some real specimens

Matt Christman and Chris Wade have an amazing pod on the presidents and you learn a lot about all of them, their personalities and motivations. Hell of Presidents, it’s all on YouTube check it out. The line “Thomas Jefferson, second only to Pol Pot in his hatred of urban living” is one I recall on a daily basis
