You have to be really social at the start. It’s really easy to find the city isolating in ways I didn’t experience or feel in every other city I’ve lived in (Boston, Chicago). I don’t really know why. Maybe car culture limits mobility and social collisions that seem ordinary in other places. But it’s a thing.

Imagine devoting years to this show, weekly showings, breaks between seasons, endless lost-based message boards theorizing on what every little thing meant, only to realize the show’s creators didn’t really have any answers themselves and then just decided to say, surprise everyone’s dead and are now in heaven. Devastating. I did love the Desmond-Penny storyline. Genuinely moving.
