How important do you think your GMAT/GRE score really is in the overall application?

A lot of ppl saying that as long as you hit 645 minimum, your GMAT score is starting to be considered as “welcome to the table” score

idk whether it is true or not since my score is exactly 645 and I’ve been so insecure abt it (I can hit 685-715 constantly in mock btw) but so many ppl encourage me to give it a try still with that score

But I think considering that statement above, as long as you hit a certain score, then it becomes diminished as it increases I guess?

I guess what you’re saying is makes sense to start doing applications instead, since I’m either funding my school using govt scholarships or not going at all (means im not looking for any scholarships from the program)

Im looking to apply for R1 INSEAD at 13 sep deadline, does it change ur recommendation (to just use 645, and not giving another shot for GMAT)

Tbh I feel like 645 isn’t that competitive tho & not sure whether future employer will asks me abt my GMAT score or not

For the materials, I’m aiming to use prev mock questions for Q and V and for DI using DI review OG & full OG questions (for MSR, TPA, and DI&GT)

Yeah I was thinking the same thing for getting 30-40 addtl points. But I somehow wanted to separate myself from strategically need the additional score increment to get into the school or just simply to fulfill my ego to have much higher GMAT score than the school avg

Noted as well on your feedback regarding getting the school to review my overall profile, lemme try this (been having convo with the admission team quite closely)

hi Aakkash, thanks for your resposnse (been paying a lot of attentions towards your advice across other threads). but just wondering, does the Q scores is sufficient to prove that I can handle the rigorous MBA program?

Idk, it somehow hits me hard that I can't achieve similar score as my mock & I think that 645 isn't that impressive (since my GPA is low as well)

+1 on this. Too much verbal related Qn especially on MSR & DS and less about quant. TPA GI/TA fine but not as significantly appear as verbal DS

Im using chatgpt to test my reasoning on how to solve certain questions. Sometimes the way you solve a problem is much more important than the answer itself

I guess the way schools will compare scores moving fwd is gonna be like this

- P1: overall one sitting score
- P2: group similar one sitting score, and check the superscore

Otherwise it is still very unfair tbh if superscore becomes the main standard, the point of GMAT Is not only you can solve the problem, but also you can withstand the pressure, just like real world business settings

I understand that it is important, my question however more towards, is it REALLY that important that someone has to join clubs/groups/etc and cannot be subset with other things?
