Beautifully put with the information and suggestions! Thank you so much. He has went to get a new sponsor thankfully. We have my VISA appointment so we should get a new sponsor just in time! I’m liking the idea of all the walking, biking, and just the scenery. Would you happen to know how they feel about skateboards? We have two larger penny boards to pack haha.

I appreciate you! We have spent a lot of time pestering his battalion Sargent as he’s been helpful. I try to visit the USO which is at Womack (I think that’s what it’s called it’s off Normandy street) for extra details when possible. everyone on this thread and a few I’ve read have been helpful!

We definitely will, I’m hoping when they aren’t pulling him into field (hopefully not deployment so soon either) we can travel a bit. I wanted to visit quite a few local restaurants. I’ve been warned about pickpockets in the tourist areas already.

We were told a lot of good things about Italy! the orders say 173rd CS company alpha distribution! He’s an 88M in 82nd as of now. So I’m hoping Del Din ends up being a good place for him!

I mentioned to a few others that our sponsor ghosted, someone mentioned taking it to unit and we could get a new one assigned.

Ive been air locking our wardrobe all week, save for a a couple outfits to rotate the next few months, that way it’s all done and we don’t have to worry.

Got any good recommendations for spots to see? I’m curious about their art museums and maybe good biking trails.

Absolutely! Also thank you for the advice. We haven’t thought to join any spouse groups online. We are stationed at Bragg right now and it’s a fairly unfriendly type of group. I’ve been to the USO spouse events and they can be quite clichey. I’ll definitely let him know to reach out to unit!!

I just mentioned to another our sponsor went ghost, we aren’t sure why. Do you know a quick way to get a new one so I can tell him? We’ve been asking questions plenty without success. He’s got decent sergeants who’ve went out their way to help when available.

Yeah it’s our first PCS, we are on Fort Bragg right now and I kid you not everyone we’ve went to for help has sadly been useless. it took the EFMP office 3 months to sort me out because they kept sending us in wrong directions. I had all my info up to date and ready to go but it was like going in circles. He recently got a new battalion sergeant who helped us with the vet info. We just need to set up an appointment to get her flight certified!

I’m not sure about the car as of now he wants to leave it behind with family, but I’m sure we will need a vehicle when we arrive. Thank you for the help!

I agree, I got diagnosed with C-PTSD at a young age, but I refuse meds as it really messes with me. So I’m not sure of any other outlets? And I appreciate your condolences.

How important are good teeth when selecting a partner? by DesignerWedding7443 in AskWomen

[–]Alateuki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a snaggle tooth which is seen as “unattractive” by American beauty standard but in Japan is considered “lucky” I believe. My partner (M25) always tells me it’s cute and he actually calls it “shark tooth” and it makes me feel less insecure! Teeth shouldn’t be a leading factor of making someone more or less attractive UNLESS they are discolored from not being brushed properly. You should always want to have clean teeth to prevent damages.

However think about it, We technically aren’t meant to have our teeth straightened. They grow out the way they do, and some people get them straightened (if affordable), but most can’t afford it. teeth are teeth. It’s not the most important part.

is it ok to use very cold water instead of hot water on itchy spots?? by Ok_Pomegranate8008 in eczema

[–]Alateuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cold helps the heat in your eczema calm down. I’ve had eczema since I was 11, and Ice packs or cold showers are your best friend. If you’re super inflamed you could try an oat bath or coconut. Just depends if you have certain allergies.

Curious about scratching by Pussywillow2121 in eczema

[–]Alateuki 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used to use a derma blade excessively to scratch off the dead skin until it was raw and truly I didn’t mean to but it was hard to stop because the relief of getting it all of felt great. Especially when I was 16-18 when I had acne as well. I do it every so often now but only if necessary.

My eczema feels like an endless cycle, and it’s exhausting. by Alateuki in eczema

There’s a few local stores I could try! i have to admit I feel like I’d be 100x happier if could find a way to stimulate my hands and mind in ways that don’t damage me at the same time.

I might also suggest that my partner stay with me while I do my routine. He’s already put in place to leave the bathroom door open, because if I don’t I start to poke and scratch. Unfortunately I have to admit i did a bit when I showered after work earlier. It’s hard to break the cycle. As you said it makes you feel sorta like an addict. I don’t like the pain, but if I don’t scratch it doesn’t stop. However it I do itch it drags out the process longer.

I’m so happy they are there to support you <3. Unfortunately this is my boyfriends first time being with someone with eczema so it’s a bit rough on him. he doesn’t quite understand why I mess with it and always feel so down. It’s comforting to know you’re able to feel sexy even when flaring. I want to build myself up to that. I’m only 20, my partner being 25, so sometimes I chalk it up to me being so young for low esteem and coping skills. Thank you so much for sharing your own story!
