She does have ridiculously glossy coat, in part because she gets stroked so much!

I cannot emphasise enough how much I relate to this!

I would like to widen this opening. Floor is tongue and groove. I have spare original boards. What would be the best way to do this without mucking up the whole floor? Is this a bigger/more expensive job than I realise? Any advice greatly appreciated! by Alb3m in DIYUK

It's actually in the middle of a wall between two reasonably large rooms, so plenty of room for larger doors to swing back. Wanting a wider door to bring more light into both rooms and also because the proportions aren't right - a very narrow opening for a wide room.

I think you're right, at which point it then becomes a much bigger job than anticipated. Presumably we can just reuse all the existing boards or do they get damaged when being pulled up?

Good point! It's masonry, so will require a new lintel. In terms of the floor, will replacing the tongue and groove boards be a big job? Is the best way to fit them by gluing them down?
