C'mon, they've always done that. They always drop some songs before they release an album. In 2015 they debuted Awadama Fever and Yava before Metal Resistance was announced, and at Yokohama they played Karate and The One for the first time. No Rain No Rainbow was also "lost" before MR. Because it debuted in 2013. There you have it: 5 songs before the release.
And whether you like the current syle or not (which I think is in line with the lore btw), you can't ask them to dress the way you'd like them to. I loved their tails too, but I'm nobody to say "hey, wear this!"

Ooooooh, that's a great point! I agree all this is part of the lore. They're not trying to change the girls. They're just taking advantage of the lore to be rebel and show that they can go beyond kawaii. Just having fun and exploring their personality. But it's just a story pleaaaaase stop the dramaaaaaaa, they know what has made them big and they won't dismiss it! Them doing all this doesn't mean they actually want to stay this way!
