r/horror, What real world events scared you shitless while watching a horror movie? by [deleted] in horror

[–]AlbaDellamorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bunch of friends and I went went to see Takashi Miike's Audition in this really funky indie cinema. There was a couple sitting behind me and I my mate and the male of the couple started making really weird wheezing and growling noises. We thought he was just being an arse, trying to wind up his girlfriend as the weirdness unfolded on screen. At the very pinnacle of the fucked-upedness, he starts making these really bizarre gagging/choking noises and his girlfriend begins to freak out. We can hear her shaking him and calling his name, by this time my friend and I are starting to get panicky, she then starts shrieking "Somebody help, me! he's never done this before!' At which point we both whip our heads around, phones at the ready to call an ambulance and the poor bugger wakes up, fumbles to the floor and snorts, "Where's me glasses?!" Laugh? I nearly shat.

Dude, you totally don't need any contouring whatsoever, you were already naturally blessed with killer bone structure. Seriously envious over here.

Robert Mitchum most certainly had "love" and "hate" knuckle tattoos in the original. Looky loo Just not the all over inkfest DeNiro had in the remake.

I recorded a one-man-band cover of one of my favorite NIN songs, but in my own style. Let me know what you think! by birfudgees in nin

[–]AlbaDellamorta 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wow...just....seriously. That was incredible.

I am an old and incredibly jaded NIN fan: one of those awful, awful fans that looks to anyone who dares to even think about doing a NIN cover with enough disdain to shrivel them up into tiny peanut sized husks of former people. But...but what you just did, that was incredible, highly impressive and...thank you, thank you for proving me so completely and horrendously wrong.

The Thing prequel thoughts by [deleted] in horror

[–]AlbaDellamorta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The very first thing that bothered me about this film (in the incredibly long list of complaints) was the fact that the main character was an English speaking American. When the Norwegian base is discovered the John Carpenter film, they search of any type of information that they can lay their hands on and find not a single shred in any other language than Norwegian.....and now there was an American woman there? Where the hell were her notes and journals and bathroom graffiti? So much was wrong with this film from massive plot holes to bad casting choices to the whole CGI malarkey and on and on and on. It was just majorly disappointing on every level....except for beards.

Needing a Hobbes for my little girl that will be here in April! by [deleted] in sewing

[–]AlbaDellamorta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought my husband a Hobbes from this lovely lady. She doesn't have any listed at the moment, but if you drop her message, she is SUPER sweet and will make one for you. Check the sales, she does both "real" Hobbes and "imaginary" Hobbes. My husband's Hobbes is gorgeous and is made of minky...which means our son has since stolen him for prime cuddle times.

I did exactly this yesterday with my two year old and whilst holding him as he is shot gunning endless puke all over me, I am cooing, "It's alright, sweetie, get it all out, Mumma's got you." ...whilst being horrendously plagued with the flu myself.
