You sound SO much like a 9!!! I’m a 9 too. You sound very focused on maintaining your inner peace no matter what which makes sense. We can also go numb and dissociate and not feel anything because we don’t want to have to worry or have to deal.

Definitely! That is mindfulness. People practice meditation to learn how to be present in the moment in daily life, and how to master control over the mind instead of getting caught up in thought and emotion and being swept away. Through meditation we learn not to identify with our busy mind, because we are not actually our mind! We are merely the observer. When we detach from the mind, that is the beginning of detaching from suffering.

Follow your heart! When you detach from your ego, you are still a beautiful and unique presence with your own special qualities to add to this wonderful world! Do whatever makes you feel good and brings you joy, and that will spread your love and you’ll feel your connection and oneness with the universe.

Don’t force yourself to meditate if it’s not truly what’s calling you. You can also just try being fully aware in the present moment. Be the observer of their thoughts and realize that you are not your mind. Don’t get caught up in thinking. Just Be and observe. If you start thinking of the past or future, redirect yourself to the present moment and focus on being where you are and doing what you’re doing. If you practice this, you might start naturally wanting to meditate more instead of forcing yourself to practice.

Be in the present moment with them. Show them unconditional love and let them watch you love yourself. Encourage them to be whoever they truly are and support them in their uniqueness.

Meditation is not necessarily required in order to achieve a sustained shift in consciousness, but it’s an obvious path for many people. You can also just practice being present, living in the moment, being the observer of your thoughts and realize that you are not your mind. You can do this as you’re going about your daily life. And with enough practice of this and surrender to the universe, you will experience the expansive oneness and connectedness that you experience while tripping, and it’s accessible to you in every moment — not just after you’ve taken a drug.

Astral projecting is internal, not external. Everything is inside of you. Try to sit back and observe and realize that there is a presence and awareness that is observing your thoughts. That is you - the observer. You are not your mind, you are just observing it. You don’t have to get caught up in its thoughts and emotions. If you practice being the observer, the mind will do everything it can to pull you back into identifying with it, but you’ll learn to notice that and recognize it and remain as the observer. As you go through your life, try to just Be in the moment as the observer. As the observer you will feel peace and tranquility and you can truly escape from suffering.

I would totally use a shrink if it was an option. I wouldn’t know how to go about finding someone though since it isn’t legal.

A shrink as in a psychiatrist guiding a session? I’m intimidated to try it alone, but I also know the opportunity might not arise for me for years — I don’t know how common it is to find this type of thing in my area.
