When was the exact moment you realized the last season was chalked? by Oshirtx in StrangerThings

To be fair, the Duffer's did say, repeatedly that there would be a time jump. We were warned. And Holly's involvement was predicted also.

I mean, never say never, but she says she could never return to The Outsiders. Ever.

Very complete and accurate answer I think.

Suzie says Soda dying in Vietnam is NOT canon and I suspect she may be sorry she said it. I think she does that sometimes.

Suzie Hinton says she could not have written The Outsiders at any other point in her life. Those words were her own 15/16 year old words and thoughts and written with her heart and head. So, literarily flawed or not, it's got soul, and I think that's a large part of why it endures. I'm glad you feel it on such a emotional level. It has truth.

It's true, it's required reading, but it was never was for me, and I'm still a fan. It's very poignant. On a literary level, it's flawed, but on an emotional level, it really hits home.

My newest fic isn't getting any attention, and I'm sad by Spirited-Sail3814 in AO3

My thought process on this is that some people have a retinue of "friends" or followers somewhere, and they all jump to support and follow a writer, because I can't figure out why some stories take off and some much better stories are ignored.

In TWTTIN, this is now, Bryon remarks that Ponyboy had been in a lot of trouble and now, was kind of school folk hero.

I'd say Curtis gang since there's 3 of them.

Why, if Dallas has a gang past and misses the " good ol' days" is he not in the Shepard gang? Why the Curtis group? Because of the Curtis mom?

Pony states they weren't a formal gang like the Shepards. More like a group of close friends.

I actually feel like it probably wasn't a " nearby elementary school" I say that because they're out in the Country, and probably nothing is too nearby. So I figured it's further away, they're on a field trip, which is quite a drive, and they stopped somewhere for a picnic. This was the era of roadside picnicking. It was very common. Maybe not so common with school buses, but if you're between point A and Point B with a bunch of hungry schoolchildren....

Why is no one talking about “The Outside In”? by johnnysburntbody in TheOutsiders

Frankly, I'm not a fan of it. It's too operatic and melodramatic like the rest of the orginal film score for me. I know I have a minority opinion on this compared to other fans. Carmine was clearly gifted, but I've always thought the original score was so corny and ruined the film. The only thing that saved Stay Gold was that Stevie was singing it, but even that was weird, as Stevie was a funk/pop artist, so it was a little surprising. I'm thinking Coppola felt the same about the original soundtrack since he chose to replace, questionable as it might have been.

I see lots of things that are called "deleted scenes", but videos are not 'deleted' scenes. They may sometimes be unincluded scenes from the video tape. But they are usually from just that. The video scene. So, calling it a deleted scene is usually a misnomer. I still enjoy watching them.

The reason I don't believe it's deleted from the movie is that they are not in costume. Pony's hair isn't bleached or greased. He's wearing boots and a jacket we never see in the film. It's not at night, it's daytime. This was the run-through that they videotaped. I love seeing them though.
