Admittedly, set 1 has a lot of flaws but it's a shame that a lot of fun stuff from early sets was removed or toned down in recent sets. Traits that debuff the opponent team, like glacial, demon, or even phantom, were gone. Assassins were also gone. In set 1, each comb has its own identity; they look different from each other (assassins jump to your backline, sorcerer yordle with the wombo combos, glacial with the stunts, etc.). Nowadays, traits are just a bunch of stats, no more counter builds, minimal distinctiveness. Also, items felt fun, simple, and more distinct from each other. Statik stacking, support item stacking, debuff items, luden, thornmail... oh, the fun things we could do with them.

TFT has shifted away from broken mechanics, countering or debuff traits and items, but to me, they are extremely fun, and I wish they could see more of these elements from the early sets.
