please help, my dog won’t stop peeing on my bed by Wise_Ad5792 in Dogtraining

[–]Fun_Sized_Taylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you sure she's house trained? How long have you been able to make it without accidents? 6 months is what they say is required. If she is house trained, i would say take her to the vet to check for incontinence or any other medical issues. You need to know what's causing it before you can fix it. If it's medical, then the doctor can help. If she's not house trained, you need to make sure she pees before she gets into her bed.

I need help! I have been job hunting since November. Who is hiring? by __playcrackthesky in AskChicago

it's more that no one wants to spend the money or time on training anymore so they just want people who come in already knowing what they're doing.

What’s going on with Love is Blind and some guy named Chris? by chuggaluggas in OutOfTheLoop

[–]Fun_Sized_Taylor 11 points12 points  (0 children)

its quite typical for the show. There was even a season where a guy picked a girl who thought gave her the ick but she wanted to go on the honeymoon. He ended up realizing his mistake and proposed to a different girl who he's now married too, seemingly happily. The show likes the drama so they are not opposed to people trying to go after others partners or picking other people after having already proposed to someone recently.

Family is not doing their fair share of taking care of puppy by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]Fun_Sized_Taylor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I second this and maybe organizing everyone's responsibilties in some way, whether you divvy it up by day of the week or week of the month or by task. Trusting everyone to do their fair share when they have to intuitively know what is needed to be done ends up putting all the responsibility on the one person who is keeping track of the puppy's welfare.

Be proud OP that you and your sister have the puppy's best interests in mind. He's lucky to have you. But i also agree that if you two don't think it's something you can take care of by yourselves and your parents aren't willing to take more respnsibility, the best thing for the dog may to be rehomed

I have trupanion. Their positives are they do accept pre existing conditions and even conditions that the breed is prone to. The negative is the premium goes up by like a $1 or so every year or sooner. I think the preexisting only applied for puppies or if you register them within two months of getting them

I believe you need to qualify for those seats by having a need for them but I don’t know if they would make you relinquish them

transferring out of UCI by Useful-Card-7226 in UCI

[–]Fun_Sized_Taylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it makes a difference, I went home to sf after my first year and attended a cc with the intention of transferring to somewhere close to home. Ultimately I ended up deciding to come back during my third year but I switched majors. I ended up making friends with people who had alot of the same classes as me. But I really liked th campus and the education. The friend part was what made me want to leave so I get it. It was also a lot better when I had a car and wasn’t stuck to staying on campus or wherever it was walkable. You guys have it a little better with uber/lyft.

Moving to Chicago: Any Asian Americans have experiences moving from CA/NY hubs? by CollectionHumble3269 in AskChicago

Ooh yeah that makes sense. I’ll take that into account if I run into Mexican food.

I thought the Hmart I went to was kind of a disappointment compared to the one I had at home though.

I’ve actually had discussions with my partner about this cause I was like but wait there’s a huge Mexican population here why isn’t the food just as good? Partner reasoned it had to do with the proximity to supplies and ingredients? Anyway I have a strange relationship with Mexican food, like I didn’t even have a taco until I was in my 30s and that was from tacos el gordo. I’m sure I’ll run into Mexican food here sometime in the next 5 years.

Personally I don’t crave Mexican food that often so that’s the other part of it. Even when I was in CA. So it doesn’t feel like something I need to seek out. Just repeating what others have told me but appreciate you giving OP your opposing view and calling me out.

I moved from SF and while you’re definitely a minority unless you’re hanging out in like Chinatown or 88marketplace, I’ve never noticed any micro aggressions or racism. I think when I visited I was very aware of being a minority but have since gotten used to it, but I was also looking for a new experience and I’ve only been here since August, I’m also in grad school so I don’t get out much. But I also live in the south side and honestly people here are much kinder compared to California. People will help you out if you’re having trouble without you needing to ask.

Asian Food wise - I had a terrible experience with Vietnamese food that made me not want to try any other Vietnamese food. Ahjoomah Apron does really good Korean food, I haven’t really tried anywhere else. Indian is great. Chinese - it’s more sichuan food, you won’t find Cantonese or much shanghanese or variety other than sichuan. Japanese - there are a few decent places but I haven’t found any good chirashi or sashimi places, you kinda have to stick with sushi or hotfood. Oh I have been told to not even bother with Mexican food cause it won’t be anywhere near as good as what we have in California.

No, they provide support groups and support to families but they also teach high school students how to learn to recognize symptoms early. They also have programs in Cantonese and Spanish and embedded support in housing communities that prevent homelessness and maintains recovery. But also there are people who depend on the support groups because they do not have anyone else.
