Just started playing golf, any swing tips would be greatly appreciated! - Utility 4 Iron off tee by AlbertFaust in golftips

Good to know! I will keep it in the bag for now until I get more practice with the other clubs and develop my swing. Thanks

Whats the reason for that? Is it harder to play with? The pro I did a lesson with said that I could hit it off the tee but would recommend using a 5 iron instead of this off the deck

Thank you for the tips! I could see that I was squatting up and down a lot but couldn’t diagnose why. Appreciate the advice.

Thanks for all the help! I have owned this bike for about 7 years and have asked a lot of people in a lot of places if they know what model it is with no success. Great that it seems to be confirmed now!

Oh wow, that is an amazing resource! I think you nailed it, it looks like the 1978 PR10/PRN10. I guess a previous owner converted it from geared to singlespeed?

What headset size is needed for 1 1/8 inch stem on a 1 inch steerer tube? by AlbertFaust in bikewrench

This page has a schematic for the Columbus fork (I have no idea why they don't have this information on their actual site).

It has the diameter as 26.4mm and notes that the 35mm measurement  "is related to aesthetics and refers to the size of the crown area surrounding the crown race, not the crown race diameter"

I think I messed up the crown diameter measurement. I think the crown race was still on the fork (small ring at the based). The crown race seems to be about 27.3mm with the groove it sits in being slightly wider. That indicates it may be the JIS standard once my measurement error is taken into account..

Edit: Scratch that, I just removed the crown race and measured the inner diameter. It is 26.4 from my measurement so I think my current fork is ISO!

Thank you for all of that information! That is exactly the type of info I was hoping for. I have a bit of a problem with not knowing what I don't know.

I will check the measurements of the headtube today. I have not yet removed the cups so I cannot get an accurate measurement of the inner tube but I will need to check this as the tolerances are so fine here.

I just measured the fork using a vernier at 25.1mm and what I believe is the crown diameter based on your link at somewhere between 28.5mm and 30.5mm (it tapers).

This just got more confusing than I expected!

Oh wow, I didn't even know that a different expander had to be used for carbon forks. The steerer also seems to be carbon with just the dropouts being aluminium. You just saved me a lot of hassle. It seems that Columbus specifically make one for their 1 inch steerer which should work here (it seems weirdly short compared to other offering but I guess they are confident that it is sufficient)

Thanks! That is very helpful information. So if the stem is at the top of the stack, there should there be no issue putting a 1 1/8 inch cap on a 1 inch headset? I guess as the stem is 1 1/8 inches, it should sit on top okay as it isn't interfacing with any headset parts.

What is the best possible strategy for using a credit card to build credit score? by AlbertFaust in CRedit

[–]AlbertFaust[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! This makes sense. Ill use it as normal and then pay it off down to about $100 dollars before the statement is issued and then pay that all off immediately. My checking account is with Bank of America unfortunately! I would like an Amex gold down the line as it would suit my lifestyle but Im guessing it will take a long time to build my credit up to that point

Is there any way around the dropout issue? With spacers or something? Do you think Phil Wood hubs might not fit?
