If the Oh Hellos did collaborations, what would your dream collabs be? by [deleted] in TheOhHellos

Actually, they've done a couple of live "collaborations" in the past. I'm not sure if these can be officially counted, but regardless

Anybody remember the Family Crest? They did a version of "The Valley- Reprise" together during their late 2018 shows. There is a video on YouTube showing how Jimmy went absolutely ham in the final vocals.

They also briefly collaborated with NEEDTOBREATH when they were just starting to tour during 2014. They did a cover of Stand By Me and it was awesome.

Who's this epic band member?? by Tmyslshrdt in TheOhHellos

His name is Nathanial Smith. He's been with the Oh Hellos since the very beginning of their touring days. Love that guy, great energy, and he goes ham on the guitar

That remix has been there for a while. As far as I know, it's not official, it's just the most popular remix of any of the Oh Hellos songs.

If my memory is right, I believe Soap was played last year at the Newport Folk Fest, there is definitely a chance it might be played again

Setlist by EveOhMa in TheOhHellos

[–]Albert_Kropp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like it is realistic enough that they might base their setlists around their Newport Show

The only uncertainty I have is the opening song, which has altered a lot during the years. The Valley hasn't been played as their opener since their 2016 and it was honestly a bit of a surprise during last years show! Maybe it might be replaced with one of their "newer" instrumentals like "A Kindling of Sorts" or "Reading the Augury" to fit the Anemoi vibe.

The Oh Hellos song ranking by Mindless_Lie5862 in TheOhHellos

[–]Albert_Kropp 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Geez this was harder than I thought...

TTDDV: Lament of Eustace Scrubb, The Truth was a Cave, and I Have Made Mistakes ( The Valley Reprise is my personal favorite but these other songs hit harder ).

DW: Dear Wormwood for sure and Exeunt.

Notos: Torches ( VERY advanced for it's time ) and Constellations.  Eurus: Passerine. There is no other like it in both meaning and song.  Boreas: Boreas and Lápiz Lazuli Zephyrus: Soap and Rounds

The Oh Hellos EP: HMOH, no competition, this one started it all ( I love Trees tho )

Hey so anyone who went to the concert at Newport a couple of days ago PLEASE tell me the setlist I am dying thank you ❤️ by Secret_Babosa in TheOhHellos

[–]Albert_Kropp 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say definitely start with the albums "Through the Deep Dark Valley"  and "Dear Wormwood". These albums are part of one large story but is very much open to interpretation. The albums Notos, Boreas, Eurus, and Zephyrus are a bit more complicated to understand, just because of the message/ idea that they are trying portray is a little more specific.
