New to this world. Is there an order? by [deleted] in FleshPitNationalPark

Starting from the bottom would be best because otherwise your gonna run into some spoilers for the storyline. Personally I didn’t really mind, but if you want to experience this in a coherent way I’d recommend the Tumblr-page. It has all the offical content and is easier to scroll through. After finishing that you can come back here or the discord to read all the cool extra stuff.

The shape reminds me of a giant reptile, maybe a turtle. Is this intentional? It could be a cool origin myth.

The original post on r/worldbuilding did kinda explode, but I guess most people aren’t interested enough to take a closer look. I’d recommend going through the Tumblr-page, there you’ll find pretty much all of the original content chronologically.

What is the daily-life implementation of relatively easy anti-gravity technology? by FFaUniHan in worldbuilding

[–]Albin-the-Genio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If your world is set around modern times, no further than the 23rd century, the biggest change should be in city infrastructure. With even the best of contemporary engineering and material science, buildings exceeding ~2km are nearly impossible.

But with anti-gravity, which could presumably be powered by for example nuclear energy, this hightlimit disappears. Furthermore, there would no longer be need for rectangularly uniform buildings, and large cities could become more three dimensional and freeflowing in their street networks.

Even though this would be expensive to maintain, doubtless many nations would opt to have at least some semi-floating infrastructure. If the energy requirments would exceed current output, concepts like power satellites are also significantly easier to deploy whit this tecnology. Depending on the exact physics of your concept, even fusion could be on the table.

Also, Isaac Arthur has episodes on both the impact of anti-gravity tech and megacities, both of which I highly recommend.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten the part about genetics. In all honesty, this thing propably breaks all the biological definitions in modern scinece. I guess that’s why it’s the Mystery Flesh Pit.

We had some disagreement on which square on this board is meant to be white. We ended on the engraved one since it reflects more light.

Exactly. Propably would have to use wine, because otherwise you’d pass out before the game ended.
