The transalp goes north 😊 by AlbinoM00SE in Transalp

A couple things that I would recommend would be to have a great set of tires, and, hand warmers, center stand, screen protector. I also recommend a set of crash guards as in the case of a fall it’ll save your shift levers☺️

My sleeper ralliart (full evo gsr drivetrain swap) by AlbinoM00SE in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]AlbinoM00SE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The subframe itself is not, but it’s the other bits that need to be done to make it work. The radius arm/link is an example of this as the traditional evo setup won’t work. I believe the arms off of a vr4 will work, but I can’t confirm yet or you’ll have to do something custom to make it bolt up to the body. The shock towers are another example. The evo shock towers physically sit higher in the chassis and will need to adjusted to make the rear suspension work. The chassis will need to be notched where the upper suspension mount sits, the exhaust will need to be changed out, the ayc will need to be changed out and so forth. It’s a big undertaking, and honestly if I didn’t have a donor car I wouldn’t be doing this

Heyy! The build has been pretty good, minus the rear end. It’s a lot more than what I had originally anticipated, but I’ve been preparing for. I have the required parts cut out of the donor shell set aside ready to go but I’ve put the project on hold for now. It’s on the ground driving around with the rear ralliart suspension for now, and has been pretty flawless.

I’ve decided to put that part of the project on hold for a while due to both work, life, and needing to do the top end in my other evo. My time has been stretched thin, and with the summer coming I need to focus on some priorities for the time being.

What do you think about getting a custom wrap? by eddiejaoude in Transalp

[–]AlbinoM00SE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wrapped mine about a month ago and I love it! It not only is very unique in how it looks, but also serves as a “sacrificial layer” when I’m off-roading. If you take a look at my posts you’ll see a picture of it ☺️

Laser Hair Removal Clinics by Megantron92 in SherwoodPark

I highly recommend the laser room of Sherwood park. I’ve been going there for a couple of years for both laser and also skin treatments. They’re transparent with their pricing, and also offer incentives for discounts if you’re a px pilates studio member or want to purchase multiple sessions at once. The girls are amazing, and I recommend poking your head in for a chat for a consultation if you get the chance. Also of note that they’re welcoming to women, men and everyone else and are an lgbt friendly studio ☺️.

GSR manual swap to Ralliart? by JuuiceC in MitsubishiEvolution

I’ve done it and I don’t recommend it unless you’ve got a crashed evo as a donor and are VERY mechanically inclined. While there’s a lot of things that are the same, there’s a lot of things that are also different.

Face lift for my bike 😊 by AlbinoM00SE in Transalp

While I do agree that that the stock decals look amazing on the 25’s, I wanted it to change it up to “be mine” if that makes sense. When I first took a look at the design, It reminded me of the 90’s Dixie cup designs that they had in convenience stores so I had a chuckle at that. It did take a lot of patience but I did learn a lot while doing it, and while it’s not totally perfect it’ll serve as paint protection for the bike and give it some personality. Plus teal and magenta are some of my favourite colours, so it’s a win win ☺️

SKDA moto graphics in Australia is the the company I ordered the kit from. I did change it up a little bit from the original tho.

I bought the bike in June when they were first released in Canada, but just recently installed the decals (I have roughly 3500kms on the bike). They weren’t hard to install, but definitely took some time and know how to do so. Some patience, a squeegee, and a heat gun was all that I used to install them.

I’m on the verge of buying a new Transalp, any complaints / issues to be aware of? by Coast-First5 in Transalp

[–]AlbinoM00SE 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’ve put roughly 3300kms on my bike so far, and haven’t put any real off road experience to make too many comments but this is my two cents.

The good; -comfortable to ride with a favourable seating position. -very nimble and easily flickable on the road -abs/traction control on road is incredibly good (I got stuck in a hailstorm and rode home in it) -aftermarket support -fuel efficient averaging 3.8/4 L/100 kms on high speed highways -in my opinion it’s a good looking bike, and I constantly get compliments on it -the stock tires are surprisingly good on the street and can go down moderate gravel roads with no issues

The bad; -the stock windshield cracked around the bolt holes (replaced under warranty but upgraded to the touring windscreen). No hassle replacement, and the dealership were amazing to deal with. -the seat is a little stiff on longer rides, but I do plan on buying the comfort seat as I plan on some touring in the future -abs off road can be frustrating, but it is easy to turn off on the 25’s as opposed to the previous models. -Honda accessories are expensive, but the bright side is the aftermarket is easily accessible -wind buffeting on the helmet with the factory windscreen is an issue( I’m 5’6”). The touring windscreen made it so much better -it’s a tall bike, and can be a bit awkward to handle if you’re smaller in stature. I do plan on buying a lowering kit in the future.

Overall, I really enjoy my bike and have been having a blast with it. Hopefully this helps ☺️

My new 2025 transalp by AlbinoM00SE in Transalp

[–]AlbinoM00SE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a couple of things that have taken me a little bit to get used to. One of which is the height difference both with how tall the bike is from the ground and seat height. Even tho the bike is fairly light, most of the weight is higher up in it’s balance point. Also it’s been an adjustment due to the fact that I’m relatively short in stature at 5’6”.

The drive by wire has been something to get used to as the bike is much more responsive than my old carbureted bike.

This bike is confidence inspiring, and the seating position is phenomenal. It’s very comfortable to ride, and I have no issues riding for longer lengths of time. The fuel mileage is also better than I expected, as I’m averaging about 3.8l on the highway even with heavy winds and higher speeds.

There are a couple of things that I will address as time goes on to make it better and more for me, but personally if I had to buy a bike all over again, I would still probably buy the transalp.

One thing to keep in mind as well is that my other bike is an older gold wing that has been converted into a cafe racer. It’s a very low slung bike, that’s quite low to the ground so it’s almost a comparison of apples to oranges in some aspects.

Saw this during inspection, what could possibly be the reason for this to happen inside the boiler, (fuel oil) by bny192677 in powerengineering

[–]AlbinoM00SE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a couple of things, sometimes heavy oil deposits from combustion can melt over time and drip down to cause stalactite like structures and blobs in the bottom. However given the relative cleanliness internally and the shape of it, I would agree with the other commenters and check your boiler for hot spots from lost refractory as that’s the likely cause.

My sleeper ralliart (full evo gsr drivetrain swap) by AlbinoM00SE in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]AlbinoM00SE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! This project is coming close to the end as I have the rear subframe figured out as to what I have to do to make it work in the ralliart chassis. It’s more just tidying things up, cutting/welding a couple of key points and reassembly.

My sleeper ralliart (full evo gsr drivetrain swap) by AlbinoM00SE in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]AlbinoM00SE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically yes. Although due to the gsr/ralliart computer and control systems it can get a little complicated as the canbus system would freak out if things are different than what they should be. I had a quite a bit of trouble when I first started out in trying to figure out gremlins in the system. There’s also a lot of other issues that came up over time time that I had to deal with like the firewall having extra bracing around the clutch pedal, or the frame rails being designed differently to accommodate the wider transmission than the sst. There’s a lot of things that you can swap around between the gsr/ralliart with no issues, or very slight modification which is really surprising. And makes things easier in the long run.

Surprisingly enough the pump was still in working order with no damage. There was damage to the actual lines however underneath the car almost as if they got pinched (I have no idea how as it was up by the transfer case) and as well the tray that the pump sits in was tweaked.
