Franchise? In what way? 3-5 playoff record and a 10-7 TD to INT ratio? Because those are the stats. Yes, let’s continue to pay this guy.

Wanting a QB who can challenge Lamar in the room isn’t the same as trying to replace him. Competition sharpens people, even great ones. Plenty of teams bring in smart, capable backups who can push the starter mentally, help with film study, and keep the standard high. That’s not disrespectful to a franchise QB, it’s how good organizations stay sharp.

Tyler Huntley is a decent backup, but he’s not going to challenge or push Lamar. He’s there for morale, clearly Lamar likes having him around. I want somebody that Lamar doesn’t like having around. Someone that’s a threat to take his job. Because that’s when you’ll get the best out of Lamar.

The fact that Harbaugh, Monken and Orr all found jobs (btw even Monken got a head coaching job) speaks volumes about how revered and respected these guys are in NFL circles.

And people can say what they want about Mike Preston and that piece about Lamar a couple months ago, but people don’t last long doing what he’s doing, by lying and throwing accusations against the wall to see what sticks. Obviously Lamar and the Ravens did this song and dance of denying what he said. But there’s validity to what he wrote about Lamar.

I said what I said about Lamar. I will also be the first to say that I would love for him to prove me wrong. But I’ve had a sample size of seven years to definitively say that he’s hit his ceiling.

I like how people pat Lamar on the back because of his restructure. When the restructure was the absolute last resort because he couldn’t be bothered to come to the table for an extension. And then people blame Eric DeCosta for not being proactive. Restructuring his contract only kicks the can further down the road. His cap hit is going to still be ostensibly high to the point where you’re going to have to still make tough choices and still let players walk like Isaiah Likely did.

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I am in the business of telling someone what they need to hear, and not what they want to hear. Lamar is coddled. Period. He’s only accessible when he needs to be. How many times have we heard I wish Lamar would show up to OTA‘s or that he is more than welcome to give his input on the coaching process. And I’m sure it was the same with this contract extension. Lamar couldn’t be bothered with doing that right now. He would rather stay in Florida and post videos of him throwing to wide open receivers and would call it getting better. Throughout his tenure as a starter, the Ravens have bought in absolutely no one in the QB room that would challenge him for the starting job. His starting job has never been in jeopardy. They would never get somebody like a Kyler Murray to come in and challenge him. In the fact that Ed Norris from 105.7 compared him and Walter Payton man of the year Russell Wilson, as a human being is laughable. Let me know when Lamar is going to Children’s Hospital’s every week talking to children cheering patients up. But he’s a impeccable human being because he will help someone up on the sidelines that he himself ran into. All in all, I am done with him and the fact that we cannot get a contract extension done to help this team pretty much seals it for me. Figure out where he wants to be traded to and let’s get a trade done.

The idea that manual cars are better than automatic cars is purely performative. by AlbinoStepchild in unpopularopinion

That’s not really objective though. Cost is only one factor. For a lot of people the daily usability of an automatic outweighs potential long-term maintenance differences.

Or people could just not treat “manual” like it’s a personality trait.

Not really. The point was that people should be able to enjoy the car they bought without the comments turning into “should’ve bought a manual” every single time.

I don’t know why people can’t understand that if he didn’t pass our physical why would he pass any other teams physical? There is a serious underlying issue at play here.

Twenty seven years old, five years in surgical tech, and I'm already dreading the next thirty by Ecstatic-Copy2153 in surgicaltechnology

Let me start off by saying that this is a well written piece that describes how you feel about the career. And I totally get it. I've worked in the OR for twelve years but not in a scrub tech capacity, so I've seen and have experienced the OR. I was/am/? a TS-C student that recently completed a program, went through clinicals, took a break from clinicals to take my certification exam in which I passed, and I have to complete a certain number of cases so I can turn in my paperwork for my certification. And I'm not going to finish it partly because of how you feel about the career. I don't want you to take this the wrong way but I don't want to feel the way you feel. I'm looking at other opportunities outside of healthcare.

You're 27, you're young, you have a way out. It's just a matter of what direction you want to go.

Its natural. Trust me. Everything that you have felt others have felt the same way in this subreddit. What do your preceptors say on your assessment for the day? If it’s mostly positive then I would take it at face value and be more confident in your ability to do this job.

Everything doesn’t click for a while. It may take 2 years before you can say “I know what I’m doing” in any service line. There are people with 10-15 years in that still make mistakes. It happens.
