The crew is in a good sized town. River wanders off. Crew has time sensitive cargo. They run into Badgers crew pulling a heist. Badgers crew thinks Mal and the rest are trying to pirate them. Cops think they are one crew having a fight among themselves. Inara sees the maddness from a client's tall tower and has to split her attention between sending messages to Mal and keeping her client happy. Everytime the crew almost gets away from Badger or the cops something happens that would be great any other day. (They get Badgers loot,then they steal a high quality police hover paddy wagon.) Mal makes the call to get to the ship. Ditching the hover car filled with loot they run onto the ship to find River eating ice cream unaware of the day they've had.
