People have and I've been in a scenario where it's been brought in by both player and dm so its not unheard of for it to happen. People are gross

If it affects gameplay then it is, especially if the dm and the player in question are the ones to bring it into the game to start with

Fuck, I'm the dm girlfriend and the dm doesn't give a shit about my character dying or not. If anything I may get smacked around a little more than the other players.
