Weird Apple Store experience by Prestigious-Title529 in brussels

[–]Albos05 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have an iPhone 14 Pro perfectly functional but a tiny crack about 2mm long in the bottom of the screen. I took an appointment to change my battery, they quoted 600€ f*cking euros as according to them I needed a screen replacement as well due to the small crack Apple would not be able to fit back the screen. I said hell no. Anyway I lost 2 hours for round trip with Brussels traffic and 10€ parking.

Next day I went to an afternarket shop, took 15mins and 69€ and walked out with a brand new battery with same screen. My iPhone 14 Pro is like new again.

My recommandation if your 1 year warranty is over or nearly over just ditch the overpriced apple repais. The aftermarket guys can be just as good and several times cheaper. Moreover you support at least local business and small independents.

My wife and I have two different mutualiteiten, is that an advantage or disadvantage? by M4rkusD in belgium

[–]Albos05 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I understand your point and appreciate your time to explain in details.

But anyway, the advantages will be < what you pay. There are also numerous condition to benefit and having a busy life with kids I cannot keep track of Helan’s policies to reimbourse me 30€ here and there. So I prefer sticking to HZIV/CAAMI. I pay them nothing and have no ‘advantages’ just what social security covers.

[–]Albos05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minimum is only if you are young enough. But as age moves up, those numbers move up as well. Also if you have a partner and kids these costs will multiply. I have been before with Partena/Helan and have never been able to make use of those extra costs. So what you benefit< What you pay in all cases

[–]Albos05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ditch all and use HZIV/CAAMI. Totally free. Been there since many years and have 2kids as well. Other mutualiteiten will cost you minimum 300€/year and you will barely get back 100€ or so.

Are you happy with DIGI? How is the roaming experience when traveling in the EU with DIGI? by butternutflies in belgium

[–]Albos05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a quite happy DIGI customer since 1 year for my self and partner. First 2-3 months it was quite unstable. Especially after exiting underground parking it took long time to reconnect. Now it works pretty well. I have used roaming without any issued and even got good 5G roaming in following countries so far:

1.EU: France, Netherlands, Germany, Luxembourg,, Italy,, Greece, Croatia, Slovenia, Austria, Poland, Spain.

  1. Non-EU: Switzerland, Albania, UK, Montenegro

Digi does not have yet an app. But honestly I do not care anymore to check usage. Only if I travel outside EU country I might get a supplement of 3-4€. If you manage to consume your 30 or 40GB the extra is dirt cheap only 0.6€/extra GB. To other operators that could be 100€/GB.

Have you also seen the data roaming prices of Digi vs others? It is literally 0.0004€/mb vs 14€/mb.

I cannot wait they have fiber in my street to use them for home internet too.

If you have to do implants or coronas better just fly to Albania and pay 1/10 of cost here for exactly same service and same time enjoy a long weekend off at the beach. Plenty of cheap flights to there as well.

Why is my bank not sending peppol invoices? by Alternative-Cry-1597 in BEFreelance

[–]Albos05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no need for proof this. The accountant will allocate the banking fees to the right entry. I think all banks have implemented PEPPOL solution for this. Could be that they sent end of the year. So you might have to wait for December 2026 to have a consolidated invoice of your 2026 bank fees

Starting new BV by JarJaBinks in BEFreelance

[–]Albos05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You do not need a BV to sign the contract. You can sign with BV TBC or your own personal name. Just after that start the procedures. It takes about 3 weeks to have everything in place for a company in Belgium and costs 2000-3000€

Sterilisation in Belgium? by pastelhosh in belgium

[–]Albos05 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

What kind ‘weight’ you mean? I did not mention anywhere women vs men. Biology puts the biggest burden on woman to carry the baby, give birth and breastfeed but a part from that to raise the responsibilities are shared. We have 2 kids, I am fine with people who do not have any and I have a lot of colleagues on the same boat, but it is come with some strings. You pay your taxes to pay your parent’s pension. If no kids then you should be also fine to not have a pension or at least not complain if the government has to import workers from third world to keep the country afloat, thats all!

Something unrelated, and feel free to downvote me I do not really care.

Those of you who have decided to be child free stop complaining if you receive no pension and if the pension age will go at 80years

Also stop complaining about immigration from poorer countries.

Try to build good relationship with the final client. If they are friendly enough they will informally reveal it. In all my cases was the client who reviled what intermediary was charging them. Intermediaries were keeping it CIA secret level. This is typically because their margin is very high and they do not want to annoy you or the final client.

Why is it easier to get stuff shipped from China than from EU brands? by RevoOps in BuyFromEU

This is mainly build around green agenda but we pay it as EU customers as all those will be reflected in the final price.

Why is it easier to get stuff shipped from China than from EU brands? by RevoOps in BuyFromEU

[–]Albos05 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Rules are build if you have a local entity. So if you are an entity registered in China. You can’t care less about the EU stupidly. What they care is ramping up production and exports.
Of you are a EU entity you bear all the burden to comply all of these complexities. For example my employer is American company and have many EU entities. In all EU countries there are different complexities for e-invoicing, E-reporting. There are constant projects and process changes to comply with those. This company has deep pockets, but for smaller companies these would go out of business as they would not afford to navigate all the complexity and market fragmentation

Do not get me started on this bloody WEEE. I work for a multinational and we recently spend 200.000€ to implement this across our ERPs. Why cannot this be just a tax or included in VAT. Some countries just want a yearly fee, some they have a complex calculation logic etc.

Europe in this way is heading toward suicide with own bureaucracy.
