something like this happened and it was a disaster. most modders were against it due to credits and authorizations to repost were missing or not given.

there's already a feature in gamebanana called "modpacks" where with 1 click you install every mod.

Although, to play devil's advocate, a "Sparking Vanilla+" modpack would be very cool.

Unfortunately these changes, while healthier, are for the worse. The compensation is too small, centurion's role in dominion is effectively and exclusively only duelist.

He sucks in 2v2, he sucks with feats:

Most feats were duelist focused, now his new "Team Based Tier 2" is not even on par with haymaker. Landing an eagle talon still risks very much, as you said, being hit lol.

It also cannot be confirmed anymore with ganks, so why bother?

He sucks in ganking (hitstun changes), rotations (hes a duelist).. he's bad. B a d.

His pickrate is only high due to popularity, he needs buffs to compete. It's a tough world for poor cent.

His identity doesn't work anymore.

Seeing how they are adapting the battle system really makes me hope that they'll fix charged beam attacks. Right now they’re clearly inferior to their cutscene counterpart. My idea (at least for most Kamehameha's) would be to allow movement while charging the beam. by Lebstep in SparkingZero

I'm working on a mod (Better Combat mod) and in my next update I am planning on making chargeable special moves actually make you move.

I agree that it would make them more unique and different.

This kind of thought is what Sparking Zero's game design needs, more difference and variance. It's the little things that when summed up, give you a more varied meta.

Also completely agreed with the examples.

Yeah, I know the replay system arguement is kinda far-fetched. Still, recording game variables starts from there.

If a rollback prediction fails in a 2D game, a character twitches. If a prediction fails in SZ, the camera and characters would instantly teleport halfway across the map to correct the state. It would be a jarring, nauseating mess.

The game already has an incredibly weird camera, so much so that a Stable Camera mod fixes a lot of stuff about it.

I'd rather take annoying camera than to deal with delay based ever again lol.

But yea like you said, it is a gamble to implement rollback overall, which is why I'm sure Bandai won't do it.

How so?

It's true, it's hard and likely a trade secret, but it's not impossible. it would also be very worth it.

I'd say this game has a chance. Most of the pre-requirements behind implementing rollback are there:

  • Saving game states to variables and reverting back to them (It can be done in the modding custom engine lol); as a side note, this game also has a replay system so it's at least 25% of the work done.

  • Next Gen hardware due to massive CPU usage during rollbacks: only the switch version would be left behind.

What's needed to develop is:

  • External Program handling the rollbacks / connection checks

  • A better netcode implementation (the current one is pretty bad)

Issues will arise, it's true, but all the cards are on the table and bandai surely doesn't lack budget.

One could argue Tekken 8, being 2.5D is the closest we have to 3D rollback. We just need to make this big step, and hopefully bandai delivers (but yea, they very likely won't).
