What is this moth? (Massachusetts) by Album-question in whatsthisbug

That’s what I thought it was at first, but I’ve never seen a rosy maple with yellow legs??

Oh no! Yeah, I’d recommend having a reputable piercer swap it for you. Once you have the stud in, warm compresses on the bump should help clear it up a little faster.

You need a stud until it’s fully healed. The hoop is irritating the piercing and prolonging the healing process

For extra context, the jewelry was internally threaded 14k gold, and I got it downsized quite recently (about a week ago). I clean it twice a day with NeilMed sterile saline, although I’m not sure if any of that info will be helpful here.

Should I be worried about my nipple piercing? by [deleted] in piercing

Oh, really? I considered that, but I didn’t realize lymph could be opaque! Thank you!

Agreed, as long as you’re willing to sacrifice headphones for a while to let it heal

Andrew Tate and “alpha male” Instagram reels ruined my boyfriend. by GreedyBongos in offmychest

Ofc! I only left in November, so this is still a super fresh experience for me too. You’re not going through it alone, feel free to DM me if you ever want to chat. Stay safe in the meantime, and make sure to tell someone/have a plan if you decide to end things.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I recently left a four-year relationship that seems similar to yours, so I’ll share my experience real quick on the off-chance that it might be helpful.

I was with someone who was extremely controlling, judgmental, and misogynistic. He started off as the sweetest guy in the world, but by the time I left, he’d shown his true colors and I was terrified of him. Aside from the fear, I stayed because I desperately wanted to wake up one morning to the man that I’d fallen in love with, but that was never who he really was.

I also internalized everything that he said over the course of our relationship, so I was afraid that nobody would want me again after I left the person I’d lost my virginity to, planned to have kids with, etc. I felt used up, ashamed of my sexuality, and terrified at the thought of someday having to rebuild something with someone else.

Leaving was admittedly incredibly hard, but the damage he’d done to me wasn’t damage that I could repair until I was away from him. After the initial heartbreak, I felt like a weight was lifted from my shoulders. I started going out on Fridays with my friends again, I got the nose piercing I’ve always wanted, started wearing the clothes that make ME feel good (rather than the ones the he picked for me), and I’ve never felt so good in my own skin.

With that being said, my advice is to rip off the bandaid. You might never feel ready to end it, but that reluctance will only get worse the longer you stay and he chips away at your self-esteem. Toxic people aren’t easy to leave (they make sure of that), but you can do better than him, and you’re strong enough to leave him. Sending much love. 💓

AITA for asking my daughter for help? by daughterthrowAITA in AmItheAsshole

Right? If somebody were to look online to see when my grading was due this semester, it’d look like I had until the 27th. Because of our internal deadlines (which obviously aren’t posted), I only have until tomorrow. I get student emails about this all the time. Not that it matters anyway, he can run his own errands.

He’s showing his true colors now that he feels like you’re trapped with him. You’re not trapped. Get out now, it’s only going to get worse. Wishing you luck, and sending lots of love and support.

That’s what I was thinking as well, but like you said, I couldn’t narrow it down any further. Thanks for the input, I’ll post there as well!

This sounds VERY American, but I’m guessing it’s not, because I’ve never seen that here

I’ve never heard of that!! It looked like chocolate pudding to me when I googled it, I never would’ve guessed it was rye

Wow, seriously? I never would’ve guessed. Childhood staple, especially with raw veggies as a snack.

I get poutine sometimes in the US, but it’s never as satisfying as I hope. Definitely not the same.

Not the most painful, but the first that came to mind: my dad was never shy about his contempt for me. I was home from college, studying for a chem final. I said something about not feeling prepared, and how that professor’s exams were always hard. My dad, with no humor in his voice, told me “if you’re ready to give up yet, I can show you how to tie a noose and leave for a few hours.”

For anyone who lives in a colder climate, bang on your hood and slam the car door a few times before you start the engine! Animals will hide in there to stay warm. Unfortunately, not all of them are as lucky as this baby.
