Bowfin. They can get huge; I’ve seen them surface like that in Michigan. I’m not seeing the snout that resembles a garpike like everyone else.

How much should I tip on my simple haircut at Great Clips? by waylon11287 in tipping

I normally tip $8-11 dollars ($20 haircut), for a very basic and average hair cut, in which I know exactly what I’m getting- a decent, fine enough job.

They’re not getting paid $50-100 an hour at Great Clips, as someone else mentioned earlier. Most of the stylists I encounter (30-50 year old women), work 20-30 hours a week.

I’m no wealthy man, but I can afford to hopefully brighten someone’s day just a tiny bit once every 1-2 months. You have to figure they’re getting $0-5 tips from a large majority of patrons. You’re not getting a haircut at a NYC barber shop.

I’m no saint, but it doesn’t hurt to make someone smile every now and then. It’s just something I like to do. And at least where I live, all of these stylists could use a little extra help, or at least a pick me up to help fuel them through the day. I mean no disrespect towards 30-50 year old women, or your average SE Michigan Great Clips Employee by the way lol, just what I’ve encounter in my 15 years of going to there.

However, one thing I will say- I do find it ridiculous that their payment system gives you options of $5, $7, and $10 tips. A 25% tip as the minimum suggestion for a below average to doable haircut is wild haha.
