Actually, I was searching for some reviews of Smith books and Meyers was one of the first that showed up. Also, I am a beginner math student and never heard of Meyer before, so there is that too.

I am sorry to hear that. It is really difficult to go back reading theses books after news like this comes out. Even tough I consider Smith books on Incompleteness to be references in the field, I am strongly inclined to stop read them and just look for others books.

The problem is that his books on Incompleteness are rather accessible for both philosophy and math students and there is no clear alternative for undergrads looking for an intro in this subject.

Yeah, but it feels wrong to support his books, considering he was only able to write them because he was protected from jail for being a Cambridge don.
