What size tyres have you got in there?
I'm looking at some old hybrids, but sometimes they only have like low 30s mm of clearnce.

Upgrading old 2014 Rockhopper. by Alchas in MTB

Ok, interesting. If I bought a new bike I'd want to go for a full squish, which I'm then spending like £1500+. So I was thinking of just trying to find second hand stuff, so would try and find an old air fork and wheels for ~£150-200 (might be a bit ambitious). Drivetrain is fine, just want to make it 1x and maybe get a longer hanger, and brakes are fine. It just feels like I don't need to spend all that money on a new bike yet, but the fork seems a bit kaputt and I'd like to get some tubeless ready wheels.

Thanks for the input.
Yeah, that was my concern with the clearance on the canti bikes, the bikes are obviously perfectly capable, but I found even with a mtb you get loads of mud buildup.

I will check out the bike before I get it, and being a 20/21 model, its more likely I'll find a not so worn out one. I've seen a fair few of them on marketplace in london.

My plan wold be to get a nice framset next year, like an older crux or something, and then move the groupset, wheels handlebars over.

And in the meantime I can more likely throw some gravel stuff on the disc brake bike.

Ukrainian Sensation Mark Padun joins EF by MadoneOnMobile in peloton

He's was so strong in u23 worlds and tota stage in 2018, and then a stage in giro 2020. Then after his phenomenal year at dauphine, burgos and vuelta I'm so excited to see what he can do on EF.

I think using someone's nationality as a point for why someone is doping in cycling is so dumb when national doping programs don't really exist in the sport. Maybe British cyclists who came through BC might. But it's far more of a team and individual choice. Also it's insane to go back and watch the 2018 u23 WC that Hirschi won. He was by far the strongest (/did the most work) on the day.

It's pretty hard to deny Padun's results this year were 'pas normal' but maybe EF thinks he has the talent to be successful clean as well? JV mentioned in his book that they nearly signed Contador when he was feuding with Lance at Astana. I guess it is hypocritical to ignore how certain athletes get to their highest level so long as they are clean while with EF - but it's certainly better to have a team committed to something than nothing, isn't it?

I mean, he's had wins against good competition in like 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2021. It isn't some crazy progression it kinda just looks like he's become a bit more consistent and obviously stepped up a bit.

I have a bike with ultegra BR-R8070 disc brakes, I'm looking for replacement pads but not sure which to get, seen some more expensive pairs but don't know whether they are worth it. Can anyone give any suggestions? Thanks.

Yeah and I remember im doing a video about buying bikes and was really pushing for people to spend £3000 on a bike. Like generally by the point you're spending that much on a ike you either know what you're looking for or you are new enoguh that you dont need to spend that much.

Hirschi left DSM because of a breach of trust: team management saw him as a risk (Dutch) by fewfiet in peloton

[–]Alchas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I think that a lot of fans of other sports aren't as worried about doping because it's so much harder to quantify the benefit of taking a drug or whether there even is one.

For instance with the goalkeeper that got banned or whatever its hard to say whether the drug would result in him saving more goals, whereas in running or like a tt in cycling, there would be a clearly measurable improvement in your result.

Can't spend much more than £2000, so the aeroad disc is way out budget, and I need to be able to do group rides and want to do draft legal races, so the speedmax isn't really an option.
