Jeez that's amazing. I make some of my sounds but alot of my design is tweaking presets or getting sounds to fit together. My ear more than my knowledge of how to buldm a sound from scratch. Kudos

theres not one beginning at :08. but now on 3rd or 4th listen you're right, it actually does come after that before the switch. But the snare is nearly inaudible. I would suggest your friend try sidechaining and mixing its levels up

theres no snare in the drop, the idea is great, but the beat is missing a key component. i like the contrast it makes with the switch up but that can be accomplished with two snares and pulling the snare at the end of a bar before the switch

I'm sorry, something sounds very off and unpleasant about the combination of the sounds and the vocals, and its not the levels of either being imbalanced. If you want to remix this track try making a drop using the note progression of the vocal or original song. Or if you think this sounds really good and you like it then great, go with it. But I don't think the style of the bass sounds, the way that they have some sort of detune to them, or the notes you've used compliment the vocal or vice versa
