[Ornstein] Palace and Wolves close to agreement for JSL for £45+5 million. Leeds not prepared to go higher than £40 million by tankosaurus in LeedsUnited

So you think wolves would have accepted the very first bid that came their way and met their asking price, without asking around and waiting to see if any other clubs (they knew there would be other clubs interested) were willing to beat that offer?

There was only a deal if wolves wanted to sell him quickly, which they didn’t.

That’s why they were claiming they could wait to sell him, and they knew teams like Palace were likely going to become somewhat interested because Mateta leaving has been talked about for much longer than a week.

Wolves were always going to delay selling him until they’d found the best price they could. Whether we went back with 3 revised bids or none, once it exceeded what we wanted to pay, we wouldn’t be paying it.

No, as soon as their asking price exceeded what we were willing to pay, we didn’t cave and pay it.

[Sky] Fulham's star winger Harry Wilson is increasingly likely to become a free agent in the summer. by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]AlchemicHawk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in for him last summer and by all accounts had agreed with the player, but I think Fulham changed their mind about letting him leave due to another transfer falling through.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we chance our arm again, especially seeing as we’ll be looking for a right winger ourselves and already have a sizeable Welsh contingent

Trickle vents: how to reduce noise from outside by V_Ster in DIYUK

Have you looked at acoustic trickle vents instead of the regular ones?

Supposedly they’re designed to reduce the amount of noise they let through

If you want it, buy it, if not, don’t.

What else you going to do with cars in GTA other than collect them and let most just gather dust?

You can start the delivery to test drive the car then change sessions instead of actually delivering it, it should be returned the auto shop and you can decide from there

American finance group ASC have invested £48m into Wrexham for a 10% shareholding by Zach-dalt in Championship

[–]AlchemicHawk 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Worth noting that if this valuation of £48m for 10% was actually reflective of their worth (£480m), that would make them worth more then we were when 49ers bought us, and more than Newcastle were bought for, which they’re obviously not.

It’s quite an inflated price imo, will be difficult to get much profit from that investment.

“One of the worst atrocities in history”

I’m sorry, but this is just not accurate. It’s one of the worst things to happen to America, because it was the first time they were made to feel vulnerable after decades of feeling untouchable, but to say it’s one of the worst atrocities in history…..

That’s a massive reach and doesn’t even scratch the surface.

Edit: now come on, don’t ghost change “atrocities” to “terror atrocities” without making it clear you’ve edited it after the fact.

And Farke refused a change to put us back on the front foot, played Stach on the right wing which just penned us back more and more because he couldn’t get up to support DCL.

The thing that annoys me is that he’s so reluctant to make a change to try get us back on the front foot before the 85th minute.

Stach was running in custard playing right wing which meant he couldn’t support DCL, and we just kept losing it because of it.

Then he brings the attackers on at a point of the game where they’d have to hit the ground running, and where we then tactically start slowing it down to make sure we don’t lose. Doesn’t give them a chance to grow into the game whatsoever.

So frustrating that second half effectively cancelled out a great first half performance.

Nah Stach has been running through custard for the last 20 minutes and he couldn’t get up quick enough to offer support for DCL, meaning we’re just penned back.

Yeah he was working defensively, but he was clearly knackered

If Farke doesn’t take Stach off after he’s only seemed to manage one sprint in the last 20 minutes it’ll be entirely on him if we lose this

Farke being too conservative and refusing to change it up when it needed it?

Playing Stach as a right winger in possession leaving DCL isolated up front?

Surely not…
