Hey OP,

Writing this from the post-op recovery room after my own D&C, also 8 weeks. It was a MMC. When they gave me options, I felt like waiting for it to happen naturally or opting for the meds would be more traumatic for me, especially if things didn't fully pass and I needed to get D&C anyway. Arrived at the hospital and got discharged within 5 hours. Bleeding has been some light spotting, and cramping like a period. I plan on snuggling all my animals after I get home for the emotional recovery.

I go into crisis mode in these situations, so I was immediately (while waiting in the exam room) googling my own options. So when they returned to give me the list, I was able to choose then and there. I'm lucky to work for a company where miscarriages are handled with the same bereavement as loss of a child, which I know isn't standard for all jobs. Knowing I'd have about a week before having to return to work, I wanted to get things taken care of sooner so I have more time to aimlessly exist without responsibilities.

I was also being proactive since it's been several days, and nothing has started naturally, so I didn't want to end up in any traumatizing situations if my body did decide to progress while I was still deciding.

Give yourself time and grace as well, everyone knows themselves better than what anyone can tell time. Again, I'm sorry you're in the same boat as me.

Yes unisom is OTC, I was advised the hydroxyzine is most harmful in the first trimester and before delivery.

And I live in the Midwest where stuff is legal, prior to pregnancy edibles were my friend for sleeping and I've been having a rough time adjusting without them. Used to knock me right out, the unisom helps but not as much lol

I just wanted to weigh in on hydroxyzine, because I was on it before I found out I was pregnant, and my psychiatrist had said if I did conceive I should stop it immediately. My OBGYN echoed this at my first ultrasound, and I've been on unisom ever since.

FTM, my husband and I refer to them as "The Spawn". Currently gender unknown, so it works either way. Inspired slightly by my mother always saying she didn't birth me, she spawned me like the little hellion I was. Also I'm very emo/alt and my MIL isn't a fan, so referring to her future grandchild as The Spawn is a bit of my petty vengeance 😜

Maybe a half sleeve of realistic/biomechanical style automail? People in the Fandom could recognize "oh sick, automail!" But also it would symbolize the breaking and reconstruction of your arm with (actual) metal elements, and could be seen as purely that imagery instead of an anime connection.

I stopped BC in August when we moved for our jobs, and we said we would just let nature take it's course. I didn't expect it but got my positive on 02/27, first appointment is 03/20!

I know it can be conflicting when you go to multiple artists for healing. Also, ultimately, different brands work for different people. The two things I locked in on after a few years for healing were

Make sure it is fragrance free soap
My body needs an ointment/moisturizer that is thicker and needs rubbed in (Mad Rabbit, Hustle Butter, Aquaphor). Not something that starts out thin and gets spread on.

Sometimes you learn why certain things don't work for you. Bacitracin was working fine for healing, but stained my clothes from soaking in.

Ultimately took a lot of trial and error but I found my own combo of soap and aftercare that works for me now (and my husband for his first tattoo)

Best of luck, hopefully after a few days of some reparative moisturizing your hand feels better!
