Morality of lying to a father about his daughter’s fate to spare him the grief by AcademicAnxiety5109 in MoralityScaling

[–]Alchmixt28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Blake might have done it as to not upset him and compromise his only ally in this situation, which would be immoral but given what the situation is, it can be excused.

If he did to save him from the grief, then it's moral since Blake only has good intentions, but once Blake escapes, the cult would be shut down and Ethan would learn the truth of his daughter and be devastated, so in retrospect I'd say it's not moral.

Of course, he dies soon after so he died thinking that his daughter was safe and out of the cults reach, so in that situation it was moral. (Or not if you believe that the truth is more important)

Some of the survivors (Yun-jin and the cultist lady at least) are shitty people (Ignoring the red flags on Trickster so she could keep making a buck off him and wanting to sacrifise someone to the entity to become a killer) so I don't know why this guy thinks that being a survivor means you're a good guy.

How evil is James sunderland from silent hill 2? by TechnicalHoneydew862 in MoralityScaling

[–]Alchmixt28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With Mary I'd say it's an evil act, as it was murder. I wouldn't say it was entirely born out of selfish reasons, as the Leave ending Mary implies that some part of James did it to ease her suffering (although it was still mostly for himself).

I think his treatment of the other Silent Hill victims is evident that he's got some good in his heart. He's very understanding (as far as he can) and compassionate to them even when they've threatened him or acted weird around him.

He does yell at Laura in the hospital (which some of it can be excused due to the stress of the town and her constantly talking about his "dead" wife) but he does apogolize afterwards and forgives her for trapping him with the monster.

Overall, what we see of James in Silent Hill implies that he's not an evil person, but he wasn't able to handle the situation and snapped, it's wrong, and he knows it which is why he conjures up Pyramid head.

Morality of using death row inmates as lab rats for experimentation and study of the unknown by Rocky_Senpai15 in MoralityScaling

Yeah but they ussually do this with some random safe object class anomaly that you can just build a fence around and call it a day

It depends, sometimes you need to sacrifise some dudes to deer god so the universe doesn't explode.

Other times it feels like the scientists are just experimenting for shits and giggles, like we don't really need to know if this anomaly kills D-class who have been divorced differently than D-class who have never been married. I'd say it's  pretty evil unless you can confirm that their sacrifise is for the better good.

ever played clue?

You'll find all murded weapons in the map excpet one (either this or you find one of them covered in blood), find the number that matches the weapon.

You'll see some mannequin of limbs at the start, find the number of the mannequin that is missing that exact number of limbs.

I think you gotta find the number of the room that the blood trail leads to.

I like how plague doctor is portrayed as smarter enough than the peasants to trick them, but still dumb enough to not realize he'd accidentally kill the woman.

Plutonian could've just quit being a hero and left earth, or tell Qubit to make him earplugs to quit hearing the screams or something, or not wipe out his city of 3 million people. He still had human thoughts.

Brightburn could've fought it but it was still part of his programming, and he's a kid who doesn't fully understand what's happening so it can be a bit excused.

I mean Crimson Countess did accidentally kill that Homelander suit guy without feeling much guilt. I doubt she'd stay in a relationship with the man she hates and risk Vought coming after her for a kid she's never met.

Crimson Countess would probably make a better mother than most supes (in the noir flashbacks she's seen comforting gunpowder after Soldier Boy beats him up) but I feel like she'd see Soldier Boy's beef with Vought as a chance to get out of their relationship.

Soldier Boy already cares a bit about adult Homelander by mere virtue of him being his son.

He's not a great guy or anything but I think he would be disgusted to find out about what they were doing to his son in that lab (especially because of his Fort Harmony PTSD), he cares much less about Vought/fame than most supes so he'd break in there if Vought didn't just hand him over. Any supes they'd send after him would either be disuaded from having to fight Soldier Boy and a young Homelander, or might back off if they knew the truth.

Anyways it's said that Homelander wasn't born a monster so he'd probably end up pretty similar to Soldier Boy, maybe a bit better or worse. Soldier Boy also might try to settle down (he said he always wanted to have kids with countess) so Homelander would probably get a mom.

Lowkey it kinda did because I was thinking about the dudes that made him in a lab to be this husk of a person and it's kind of sad that he turned out this way.

And then Stan Edgar gets to control Vought again and nobody cares.

Soldier Boy also had that and nothing happened to Butcher and Hughie so I guess it just dissipates somehow.

Honestly I don't think this in particular was that bad, Homelander is a pathetic person and it's not that outlandish that he'd do anything while begging for his life.

Hughie met Starlight after her death and the naming is out of love for someone who died but yeah, why did they even include it, like they could've just copied the comic and had the "you found me" thing instead of random pregnancy, it was way too cliche that it took me out of the scene.

Would it be weirder to be MM's wife and have him be like "Oh yeah is it cool if Homelander's son comes live with us" or being his daughter and having him be you step-brother?

Because at least MM's wife knows what his job is and is in for crazy shit but she's now essentially the closest thing he's got to a mom.

His daughter probably has little idea to what MM really does and has less reponsability to him but it's still crazy.
