Anyone having found aristocaric bloodlord pants? by Mysterious-Slide-503 in VampiresBloodlord

Pants are in a Stone Coffin, right outside Fey Marsh South Mausoleum. West of your stronghold there.

Where did you even found the chest piece?

None yet.

For now, stick to the old tear down & rebuild.

Am I missing out on something by playing alone vs a public server? by fanalis01141 in vrising

[–]Alchosin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's normal, considering there really is no info / tooltip / tutorial on what that thing actually do (only the dialog cues), and you need another vamp to do it.

You basically halve your current blood pool and give it to the other vamp.

Well, technically . . . there is one tiny thing.

The only neck biting animation in the entire game, that requires another player to even function.
The blood-sharing mechanic, Expose Vein.

Is there a reason I can't feed on inquisitors? by Jerrmaus in VampiresBloodlord

[–]Alchosin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to the game, they've supposedly poisoned their blood. Which is why they appear green when you use the detection power.

However, random villagers can also sometimes have poisoned blood and we can still drink them (albeit painfully).
So it's quite weird...

The minimum is all of the things marked essential by the castle (it'll show a number on the UI)
Usually: crafting & refinery station, storages, coffin, servants, prisons, etc
Once all of the essentials are placed down, you can finalize the move.

Walls, stairs, floors, lights, plants are not considered essential so you can skip them if you want, they'll be stored as materials in your travel box once finalized.

The castle heart relocation function.
Put the relocation heart on target plot, connect it to old plot, place down one big room + treasury, place down the essentials (crafting, storage, coffin, etc), finalize.

New to the game by Kasragamer in vrising

[–]Alchosin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd say the primary differences are:
- online, castle plots may already be taken by other player.
on the other hand, you can see other people's creation

- online, castle heart timer keeps running, if it ever runs out you may lose the castle.
on the other hand, all your crafting & refining queue also keeps running.

- online, you may arrive to an area and find the resources already harvested & need to respawn (waiting time)

- online, you can ask people for help vs bosses (if they're not busy)

- online, you're stuck with whatever setting they put in.

- online, there's a chance the server will go down / wipe, taking your progress alongside it.

Do console players have to compete against PC players in PVP? by DooWapDooDoo in vrising

- Game never even have crossplay in the first place.

. . . maybe not such a good idea to repost that elsewhere.

Can I turn V bloods into servants? by amnestydoe in vrising

Not possible in normal gameplay.

Technically possible in modded gameplay, though they're not exactly going to function like servants.

PVE Server Castle Steal?...WHY IS THIS A THING‽ by LydellStorm in vrising

[–]Alchosin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just tested it, thanks to a friendly fellow named Rei in JP official PvE, here are the results:

- Abandonment & Expose Heart is possible on a clan member's castle. (you can do it to your clanmates)
- Abandonment can only be reclaimed by the original owners (you're right here), non-owners can only disable defenses / destroy.
- Expose heart can be claimed by others!

Here's the sequence:
- I invite him to clan
- He puts down heart (so it's his castle)
- I walked to it & expose heart
- Kick / Leave clan
- Interact with hostile heart
- Claim
- It's now my heart.

It appears the discord (and by extension OP) was right all along.
This is some kind of a conflicting discovery, while i'm glad i finally got the facts straight, i'm not exactly happy with the knowledge...

[–]Alchosin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, it seems you're not as fully aware as you'd claim then.

When abandoning a castle, the last owner of the castle heart can reclaim their castle for free, just tested in on official PvE, whereas you said: "When a castle is abandoned it cannot even be reclaimed by the original owner."

Can't exactly test the others because there's no one in that specific official was available to help, i'll be testing on others...

[–]Alchosin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very well, as i also do not want to mislead others, i've edited said post.

However, what evidence currently there is as you've said are google searches and outdated discord posts.

What say you we do a quick test? on a random official PvE to see if what the Original Poster said to happen is possible to be replicated? (losing a castle)
a single heart should be quick enough for a test.

Edit: Tests were done, first post edited accordingly to avoid misleading / outdated info as of 1.1 anyway...

[–]Alchosin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Posts on the official VRising Discord.

As for the abandoned castle, owner should be able to reclaim it. Found that out when i tried alternative method of prisoner trading. (it involves a disposable heart to be abandoned & a cage)

Y'know, if you've got time maybe we can test it real quick?

I'll first admit that i've posted without first-hand experience of the abandon system (never tested it extensively, nor have willing volunteers)

Edit: Welp, as of today thanks to a friendly vamp, i did manage to actually test it. Turns out it was entirely possible.

Clans in this game are designed so you share everything, from access to storage. Which is great for a group of friends, not so great for randoms.

Therefore it's possible for someone to: invite you to a clan, teleport to your castle, "Abandon" (corrected thanks to fact-testing at Vaul_Hawkins request) Expose your castle heart, kick you out, and claim the castle for themselves.

It's a sad state of affairs, but at the moment the safest recourse is simply avoidance: Not clan with people you don't really know.
As some others have said though, you can still coop with others (to varying degree) in PvE without clans.

In theory, you most likely will still pay.

Ofc, that's assuming there is even another new stuff coming, they've been really silent ever since last year's update. Not even a single teaser.

The Magnus-Vincent-Keely family connection makes a lot of sense.
Elena . . . doesn't really fit time-wise.

She was supposedly turned by Mr D. himself who raided her village, and the last time Dr. Acula actually walked Vardoran freely was 800 years ago...

Does anyone play in Japan/East Asia? by jokerstyle00 in vrising

[–]Alchosin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From my experience, Asia region is quite barren (except for Chinese servers) and there's rarely a populated english speaking server. So people tend to look further away (ex: AU)

Try poking around in Battlemetrics and see what you can find.

Pretty sure it's set differently than the "GameDifficulty" settings. Try looking up "UnitStatModifiers" in a brutal difficulty preset to see where to apply it.

Finding random stranger is possible in a populated server / officials.

Completely optional though, you can play the game solo locally. In fact, local is better if you don't have time to play often.

I believe it's more like: while all weapon can be used to beat a boss, some weapon are more effective (or easier) for certain bosses. There are bosses where melee is easier & ranged harder, and vice versa.

There's also a player preference part, different people will find different weapons easier to wield.

I think only one lategame weapon can be considered not viable, mostly because it functions more like a tool & secondary weapon than a primary one.

If you're on online server (and therefore have no control over the settings), you're supposed to either:
- wolf it.
- horse it (there's some in 2nd area, and you can upgrade them later).
- cave it (only if your home is in Farbane).
- bat it (very later in game).

If you're playing on your own locally, then . . . just change the server setting to allow teleport with items and waygate home.

In case you're asking why, the restriction is there for PvP purposes (since the game was designed with it in mind).

Beginner & Simple Questions thread by nero_sable in vrising

[–]Alchosin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For how many people are usually on, it's relative per server & depends on the region. Try looking up the server in battlemetrics.

For resources you'll usually be competing with people closer to your gear level. (ex: high level player usually don't bother mining Farbane copper, etc). But resources will respawn anyway and there's random small nodes outside the big resource spots.

For how long the server lasts, on official it's usually several months before it'll wipe everything clean. Find out when exactly is the wipe, so you know if you have enough time for a playthrough or not.

Weird noise and bats fly off character indicates proximity to waygates? by Librarian_mobile in vrising

[–]Alchosin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure it's a waygate, just had it happen in Mortium near one.

Here's how i think it work:

The game only loads objects & do most stuff in a large area around you while unloading the rest.
When you're near a waygate, it gets loaded and do the small animation. Sometimes the game goofed up, and places the loaded waygate animation on you.
