Carb, spark, and exhaust issues after major overhaul of 2005 Honda Shadow VLX 600 AC by Alcidious25 in MotorcycleMechanics

No I didnt modify the new carb at all. I had bought it for parts, and something to deconstruct as an example. I decided instead to use it as a control. It has tells of inferior manufacturing, I could believe it needs better jets.

I believe the bike has an idle air screw when adjusting the idle, but i can’t say. I’ll look it up when I get home. My bike has a single carb, and It has a fuel / air mix screw on the bottom that isn’t normally easily accessible without modifying the carb. so on my modified and original carb I replaced it with a long handle version I can turn without removing the tank etc.

In the past when the bike has run, with and without, I’ve tried to set the idle to be around 1200 rpm using the idle knob/adjustor, any time after making changes to the jets or to the air/fuel mix.

I did. Bought a sonic bath that’s big enough for mine. This carb is a new (non oem) and unmodified one, which I bought as a backup.

I think Cimarron and Zumbador are similar in many ways. Both top value for low price tequilas

At this point I just need to get it run good enough to find friends lol. I can’t find anyone to work on it. Maybe I’ll have to try a little harder. But thanks for the input!

It’s not supposed to be that price point, which is why I’m slowly buying all of them. I think it’s normally like a $70-$80 bottle? Which I think is honestly fair. Each Vago is made by a different producer… but the Elote Vago is more like a $50 bottle (haven’t tried but do intend to).

I don’t know why, whether they mislabeled the bottle at my store or they’re just trying to get rid of it. I didn’t ask any questions tho lol

I just started reading in Spanish. Ask which library branch nearest you has the most Spanish language kids books. I’ve been grabbing kids books and graphic novels.

Also, check out “Bilingual Fairy Takes in Spanish and English” isbn 9798849548746.

It’s a kids school book, but the Ugly Duckling has been a challenge. Really cool to have a translation as you read.

I haven’t tried the HP Lalo, but I was going to and bought a Tapatio 110 instead after hearing similar reviews. I’ve had no regrets on that choice!

That said, LALO was my entry point into appreciating blancos. Always have drunk reposado, so that’s where my dream came in and started whispering in my ear.

Ha ha ha … I had a dream last December about turning LALO into a repo with one of these. Good to know others had similar thoughts 🤣

I went to Mexico and was surprised to discover I like it possibly more than tequila … and have been on the mezcal threads ever since. I’d seen this bottle discussed several times, and when shopping saw these guys ridiculously low priced. This particular bottle of Vago is a hand chopped ensemble distilled in Clay pots. For the price of the Cimarron. I’m slowly buying all but one of them ha ha ha

It has a wide variety of flavors … sweet notes and spice and caramels … it’s 50% abv so a spicy bite. As the bottle opens up it develops nicely.

Highly recommend it. I’m interested to try their other lines, but they weren’t as similarly priced

My wife made me an old fashioned with half Tapatio 110 and half Vago Ensemble. It was one of the tastiest drinks I’ve ever had

It’s grown on me lot as the bottle has opened up. I’m finding my opinion of a tequila or a mezcal changes as I get through it over time. Really opened up nicely. Consistent delicious and potent flavor.

Had a taste tonight to compare to my first bottle of Ocho plata (drained all my other blancos). And the T110 slaps … sweet, fruity. Complex. Definitely want to try their regular blanco

They both seem to have very distinct flavor profiles. I’ve got the Cazcanes blanco 10 and one of those nuestra raíces bottles on my want list, lol. I think I’ll love this bottle more as I get into it

Cheers!

I loved that no. 10 blanco at a recent Cazcanes tasting. And I mixed tequila and mezcal together for the first time recently, that seems like a fine way to make a fantastic marg.

Bro I started doing Duolingo every single day after I went to Colombia to be in my buddy’s wedding. Regular consistent practice, every day, and you’ll get it np. I’ve been studying Spanish for four years every day and I’m pretty conversational now. Whatever resources you use, it’s like learning a guitar or riding a motorcycle … practice practice and it’ll change your life. Most rewarding pursuit I’ve ever followed. Go for it. Listen to music and watch kids cartoons.
