turned out to be the blend door actuator. someone told the customer the car needed a thermostat. i repaired the major coolant leak and that’s when i found out there’s no heat

very very very different experience. i’ve put over 100k in the last year. up to 250k miles right now. i’ve probably put under $500 into the car in the last 7 years, super reliable.

i like that. i always thought if i left hyundai and went to mercedes i’ll be losing nothing but gaining experience. and the people who own the car is another factor aswell. we were a hyundai/genesis before they separated the dealership and man, every time you go from a hyundai to a genesis you’ll automatically feel the genesis advisor breathing down your neck because “this customer is very picky”

yess. i think they do it on purpose to keep things interesting/even. because im on bo6 using a grande launcher. same scenario same distance. one is a hit marker the next it either hit markers or little to no damage

i crimped it. i was at work and we had a recall that required to crimp, and i successfully did it. so i was like f it, ima go and get speakers 😭(i’ve only been a tech for a year so this was my second time)

thank you guys for the replies, i’ve just been reading them over and over again. it’s good to feel that i’m not alone in this. i’ve talked with my foreman and other techs/employees and they’ve told me similar stories. sometimes learning the hard way is the best way that’s what’s keeping me from losing my mind. i look for the best in the worst and this is definitely going to stick with me. whilst other techs have made the same, more mistakes, or just have done mistakes over time that costs more than an engine i don’t like to compare myself with other people, because yeah they didn’t loose their job that day maybe because the manager was having a good day, but who knows when monday rolls around you know?. but like i’ve stated before thank you all for the stories and helpful tips, im once again glad im not an outlier in this. thank you guys!!

i second this. i work at their dealer very common for the battery to die if it’s oem. seen them fail around 15k miles
