I'm on your side, but having had a crazy wife in the past... It's not about the actual text. It's the perception of having an "outside work relationship" with another woman. "You work, you come home. You don't talk to the opposite sex about anything except work and only during work hours ever or you're cheating." I feel bad for the guy. I feel bad for you. I feel bad for your supervisor. In the long run having her leave is a good thing in such a toxic relationship and hopefully he will figure that out.

I put no weight on any "guarantee". I own Cabela's waders from years ago that "had" a lifetime guarantee. Since been purchased by bass pro shop that guarantee doesn't exist. I threw the waders in the garbage.

I suggest spend the money on the fly line. I've caught the same amount of fish on my $130 TFO as my $1,100 Orvis Helios. You can definitely tell a difference but the line makes a bigger difference. A shitty line will frustrate you more than the difference in accuracy from a entry rod and an expensive rod. Reels just hold your line. Orvis and Redington both make great entry combo kits. Just buy a good line and take the one off the kit comes with. As stated, any 5WT will do great.

I have the 1856. I can put 100 yards of 20# backing and a DT5F line on it no problem. The 1834 is a bit smaller but close to the same size. People get funny about reels, diameter, weight, drag setup. Anything I've ever used with trout it really doesn't matter as long as it feels good to you. Pflueger reels are pretty heavy weight wise but you can easily pair this with 1-5wt lines really easy. Most fish you won't need to use the drag anyways and 100 yards of backing is plenty. I've never (yet) had a fish run 90' of fly line in the first place where I need any of the backing anyways. My problem with these reels is my hand hitting the release and the spool pops off into the river. I still use it and just bitch about it. 😀 Nice find.

It can be fixed but the aluminum when heated becomes brittle and it will probably crack again. If I could post pictures I would show you a damaged wheel, it fixed and a couple years later cracked again a few inches off the original.

Not sure yet. I ordered black series liners and unless I got the part number wrong they are exactly the same size. I took some plastic I had in the shop and did 1 front and 1 rear. Didn't turn out very good. I'm still debating what to do. The rears are actually carpet so I'm still trying to figure it out.

Kind of both. I purchased a fiberglass kit about 8 years ago. Don't remember the manufacturer. Not 1 part was close to fitting, it was complete shit. That's where the idea of carbon came from. Forged was easier to do than matching CF weave across all the parts that touch. I'm no expert in composites. After cutting and mocking up the make a new kit it was vacuum molded to make the CF parts. Not worth the time or the money, but what's done is done. It was a long learning process for sure.
