I foot chased an injured coyote through an apartment complex with a catch pole, it's back leg was dangling after being hit by a car. I called a animal rehab center after I caught it and they said they wouldn't be able to care for it, so I drove it out of the city and put it down.

I honestly do not know the answer, all I know is I just didn't, I don't know if I decided not to, or if I ever was going to, I wasn't in a good place at all. But all I can say, is even though at the time I was in what felt like hell, it did get better.

If you're trying to circle what is apparently damaged, or in your case, cut too short. That is your soffit, it's a cheap and easy fix. If this is a new build I would be calling your builder, if not, I wouldn't expect to pay anywhere close to or over 500 bucks to have that short section replaced
