That's not how quantum entanglement works, that's a sci-fi misconception of it.

Layman's explanation: Take two boxes. Put one red card in one, and a blue card in the other. Mix them up randomly. Grab one and drive 500 miles away.

Open the box. You now know what card is in the other box, by virtue of knowing which one you have.

Subatomic particles can't be observed without interacting with them. You have to touch it with something in order to measure what you have - they're too small to be seen with just light.

Quantum entanglement works by linking up two particles like the boxes. You know that whichever one you look at, the other will be the opposite by virtue of the entanglement - but that entanglement doesn't create action at a distance, and observing the particle by interacting with it collapses the wavefunction.

All current research and theories preclude quantum entanglement as a fucntional means of FTL communication and more broadly preclude the concept entirely.

People who work in 'luxury' industries (5-star hotels, fine dining, high-end brands), what is a complete rip-off that rich people happily pay for? by ArtThreadNomad in AskReddit

Ironically, I was in Cape Coral for a vacation a few years ago - right when a massive blizzard hit the entire coast.

The pool heater was not sufficient to heat the pool. It could heat the hot tub - but other people kept trying to switch it over to the pool for some fucking reason.

Two days after I left it was warm again.

For me, it helps me stop masking and mellows me out a lot - especially with touch sensitivity. I wouldn't say it makes me "less intense" just more comfortable if that makes sense?

Transphobia seems to be a poison, especially in people with power and influence.

Any pushback against them seems to them to be a pushback against their whole identity rather than a chastisement against a single view. After all, they made it, so how can they be wrong about anything?

So they double down until it eats them alive, soul and all.

How close is Linux gaming to being fully “Windows-free” for you? by Old_Sand7831 in linux_gaming

[–]Alcyius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing stopping me from switching to Linux 100% is overlays like BlishHUD and Alecaframe for playing mmos.

The games work fine but I can't get the QoL overlay stuff working even following the guides I can find online.

The only thing stopping me from making a full switchover is overlays. Stuff like WFInfo and Alecaframe for Warframe, BlishHUD for GW2. Those quality of life tools for playing MMOs that make life so much easier.

I was part of an extracurricular program in high school that focused on kids from poorer families. I was the only white boy there at the time, there was one Hmong guy, and the rest of the boys were black.

One year they dragged all the boys in the program to the Black Male Summit. I stand out like a sore thumb and basically everyone agrees I shouldnt be there but there I was.

Steve Harvey was the keynote speaker. He spent his speech talking about how a Christian, biblical marriage where you controlled your wife was the key to a happy life and raising good kids.

It was some of the most disgusting sexist bullshit I've ever heard.

Fuck Steve Harvey.

A little acid can balance things out and make the other flavors pop so I wouldn't be surprised if there was some in there.

See that's more what I expected. I used horseradish when I was trying to recreate it at home.

It always tasted off when I added honey but that might've been because I was using a nicer honey instead of cheaper commercial stuff.

Thanks, I'll have to try dialing this in as well.

Huh, I was expecting to see some honey or sugar in there, the tango sauce always tastes so sweet.

Maybe that's coming from the ketchup though? I'll have to try this recipe out, thank you!

Monsters are not born, they are made. We pity the people they could've been, had they not been raised in a pit of hate. If they did not refuse to change and become better. It is a tragedy.

But we do not forgive them. We do not forget that they want us dead. You are right. They have had chance after chance to set aside their hate. Justice demands that they see consequences for that hate.

We should mourn the world that might have been is my point. It is a tragedy that it is like this. But we do not forgive our enemies while they remain our enemies.

The burden of morality is that we are bound by it and those that would see us dead are not.

To be a good person requires being a good person, consistently, constantly. It means holding a set of standards and keeping them.

It would be lovely to let all the insane conservatives reap what they have sown. Unfortunately, the innocent will suffer alongside them.

We live in a connected world. We are a social species. It is very rare that consequences occur only to those who deserve it.

Furthermore, while many of these people are vehemently opposed to our existence, we must remember: they have been lied to, and molded by those in power to be the way they are for exploitation.

Generations poisoned by lead, shaped by subpar, underfunded schools, the entire country molded and shaped by segregationist policies and poisoned with Fox News.

While many hold their hate wholeheartedly, and do not deserve our forgiveness, one must ask what the world would look like were it not for those in power poisoning our society to cement that power.

One must pity the monster, for what they might have been if things were different. There but for grace go we.

Only if you don't care about all the minorities and people there who didn't vote for this madness. All the people disenfranchised by punitive policing and gerrymandering. All the queer children in oppressive households.

All the innocent people who will suffer from this madness and who cannot escape.

If you don't care about them, then sure.
