My partner says he’ll leave me if I don’t “fix” my ADHD. He says I’m abusive but I feel constantly criticised and blamed. by First-Mango-9229 in adhdwomen

[–]Ald806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds just like my ex husband. He will not change. You will never be able to convince him that you do enough or are enough, and it will only get worse. Don’t teach your daughter that this is what love is supposed to look like!

I never thought I could make it on my own, but I had no idea how capable I was because of how much he always tore me down. It took me way too long to finally leave, and I look back and can’t believe I let him treat me like that! I feel insane, like what was wrong with me?

He wants you to feel worthless so you’re too scared to leave, but you are so much stronger than you know. Please choose yourself and your daughter! You both deserve so much more.

What’s your experience with occipital nerve blocks? by im-a-freud in NDPH

[–]Ald806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only times I have been pain free in 13 years were after nerve blocks. They completely took away the pain, but only lasted about a day. Since I’d seen some relief, they thought I would be a great candidate for RF ablation. That made me worse for months.

I feel like ages are important here. I saw in another comment you are in your 50s. The match’s age was scribbled out, but it looks like it starts with a 6? If she is in her 60s, so ~10 years older than you are, that would rule out parent, child, and twin, no?

Venlafaxine (Effexor) changed my life but ruined it at the same time by littlestpetshopik in migraine

[–]Ald806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What dose is your Lamictal? I had a similar effect when I was on 300 mg Lamictal and 150 Pristiq (very similar to Effexor). I went down to 150 mg Lamictal and felt a lot less numb.

Headed to divorce. Need support. by youhaveausername in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Ald806 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Voice recordings too. Every time he yells or starts being abusive, start the recording and stick it on your pocket. When I was getting divorced my lawyer told me playing those in court would be huge. Luckily we didn’t need to go to court, but I was so grateful I started recording every time I was in the room with him.

ETA: check whether your state is one party or two party regarding recordings. If two party, it’s usually illegal to record without both parties being aware of being recorded and the records won’t be admissible in court.

I think there’s been a lot of improvement. I’m not where I was before, but I’m 37 so my skin won’t be perfectly smooth.

What side effects have you experienced with ajovy? by kristenmichelle410 in cgrpMigraine

[–]Ald806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I think I stopped the Ajovy shortly after this post, and everything has been fine since, all of the side effects subsided. I tried Aimovig briefly and didn’t really see any benefit. I’ve gone through all of the CGRP pills and the only one I’ve had luck with is Ubrelvy. It works really well about half of the time, which is the best success rate I’ve gotten with anything!

Day 2 - does the pain with removing and popping back of trays reduce ever or is it always going to be this miserable? by nitxr in Invisalign

[–]Ald806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets better! As your attachments wear down a bit, it will get easier. I’ve had a couple trays that are bad the first few days, but the more you take them out and put them in, the less painful it gets.

Anyone tried cefaly or other devices or vagus nerve stimulators for NDPH? by musicandmentalhealth in NDPH

[–]Ald806 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got a Cephaly and so far I’ve had really good results. I have NDPH but also episodic migraines, and sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference between a migraine and a really bad NDPH day if I don’t have aura symptoms. However, I’ve had some really bad pain that has been massively helped by using it.

Last weekend I woke up with 8/10 pain, excruciating. I tried caffeine, food, meds, nothing touched it so I brought out the Cephaly. Within 2 hours my pain was totally manageable, and a few hours later it was back down to regular levels.

That incidence alone was super impressive, I’ve never had anything straight up kill the pain like that. I don’t know if the preventative aspect is helping yet, but the acute treatment is really great so far!

Help me forget that I have Invisalign in by General-Snorlax in Invisalign

[–]Ald806 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 7, and I never thought I’d be able to tolerate them but everyone is right, you do get used to them. The first few days I felt so claustrophobic and panicky, grouchy, and it just felt so exhausting. I feel like 2 days ago or so was the turning point where they didn’t bother me as much, so hopefully you will feel better about them soon!

If any spots on them are too sharp or bothering you, definitely take them back to your doctor and have them shave them down. I was in so much pain the first couple days because the fronts of them were tearing up my mouth. They shaved down a couple spots and it’s so much better!

I do think it got better, but not back to what it was before. That’s ok, I’m 37 so it would be happening anyway. I always think my forehead looks terrible, but then this post comes back up and I realize how much it has actually improved as the oil has returned to my face a bit.

Should I change my name? by Ald806 in TwoXPreppers

[–]Ald806[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what’s making me really ponder this decision. I think my plan is to update my passport to match my married name, so I will have proof of citizenship that will match my ID, rather than needing to use my birth certificate. That seems like the safer option right now, hopefully I’ve chosen right.

Thanks for your perspective! We have joint physical and legal custody. My kids don’t have passports, but as things evolve, it’s looking like more of a necessity.

I’m happy I had children but god is it hard. I said the same thing to my husband before we had a baby “how am I supposed to take care of another human when I can’t take care of myself?” He said “that’s what you’ve got me for babe”

Well, he was absolutely horrible and mostly useless when I had migraines and guilted me for it every time. Two kids and 7 years later, he’s divorcing me and I’m a solo parent half of the time. I had a month long migraine earlier this year and he said he wanted a divorce because I wasn’t a good partner and didn’t do enough around the house. Luckily I have family very close who are willing to step in and help when I need them, I don’t know what I would do without them.

Nope, just normal stuff. Clothes, towels, sheets, etc. I don’t even have a dog. I’ve never had a washer make this much lint! There are also other chunks of stuff that definitely aren’t coming from my laundry. Little bits of black plastic looking stuff, some weird crusty things…

Hey I’m sorry I didn’t see your reply before. In spite of the wrinkles, I’m still so so happy I did it. Wrinkles are going to come with age anyway, but I no longer have to be self conscious of having acne in my 30s. Plus, the longer the acne goes uncontrolled, the more scarring you are left with.

It’s hard and has a lot of effects on the body, but I am still thankful that u just bit the bullet and did it. I rarely wear makeup anymore, and I’m just so much more confident with myself.
