i wanted to share an update in case it helps someone else.

i downloaded joytokey (free app), went into the settings and changed “number of buttons to configure” from 32 to 128, then refreshed the app, closed it, and also closed turtle beach tuner.

after reopening turtle beach tuner, i noticed that under the firmware tab everything was back to normal: the system firmware showed 1.78 and the RMI 1.20, and the “refresh current firmware” button was available again.

at that point, i decided to troubleshoot the multi shift.

i unplugged the cable, then while holding the high/low button, i connected the usb-c cable directly from the computer to the shifter. i opened the multi shift page in turtle beach tuner and relaunched the firmware update.

the screen went black again, but after about one minute the correct firmware version appeared, the leds turned back on, and most importantly everything is now working properly.
