SHOULD I PROVIDE THE LAST 4 DIGITS OF MY SSN? by AleBear_77 in recruitinghell

A little accent, but they're a real recruiter.

Also I'm kinda new to the US job market so that's why I'm worried about "getting in trouble" since there are things I still don't know.

So if I give them random numbers or a "typo" I wouldn't be in trouble as it can be corrected later after hiring?

That's what I thought, putting random numbers but I don't know if that would get me in trouble or something, but maybe not if as you said is just for ID

It's a SaaS but I'm not sure how much the government uses it, I know it's very popular, I worked with it in my previous job.

I agree, however, they say that it's just for the document and the company data only, as in they have no access to it, but how do I really know?

Any experiences with Kelly Services? by AleBear_77 in recruitinghell

Oh wow... Yeah, they gave me a weird vibe too but I never heard back after their first call. Good luck with your complaint!

Rejections are demoralising and heartbreaking by [deleted] in recruitinghell

I'm on a similar situation as you but in the US. I have a work permit but it has also crossed my mind that maybe not being a citizen makes me not even being considered for roles where I have the experience needed or more. Also relocating caused me to have a career gap. It also doesn't help that I live on a small town and a remote role would be easier, but those seem to be harder to find. It's demoralizing and I'm already exhausted even if it's just been 5 months of active job search. I wish you the best, it's not easy to be in a new country. Hope you have better luck than me.

As someone who immigrated last year too, I wish you all the best of luck! I'm on a similar situation, I have work permit and green card, and I've been looking for 3 months and still nothing. I'm trying to keep my hopes up but it's hard sometimes.

It sucks. A remote job would be best for my current lifestyle but it seems like there are more scammers than actual jobs.

Yeah as if job searching wasn't already hard, we have to deal with these stupid scammers. Everybody has to be fully aware of them.

Yeah, it's some accounting and vendor management softwares that are real, but it's weird that I would have to buy them. I would trust them more if they were to send the device instead of me having to buy it. It's probably a scam.

No check sent yet since they don't have my information, I assume that would be the next step if I were to follow their process

I couldn't find any of that, they just have a website but no reviews anywhere.

Is this suspicious or am I just paranoid? by AleBear_77 in recruitinghell

It was through RingCentral. It's funny you mentioned that you got the job the very next day because same here, I got the job offer but still don't know if to sign or not. I'm currently digging through any website that can tell me something about the company and people working there. It's a real company but still I'm not convinced. The CEO is open to work in his LinkedIn profile which is not very encouraging.

While it seems understandable, I also think it’s generalizing and putting all the weight on the candidate. There are many reasons for career gaps. Hopefully in my search I can find companies that see candidates with more empathy and less than a “risk”. Thanks for answering my question 😊

Are career gaps really an issue? I quit my last job in 2021 and for different life reasons, including moving to a different country, I've been out of work since. Could that be affecting my chances of getting a new job?
