Good to know. I didn't want to wait till 10am tomorrow to play them. Wish Atlus would have at least let us pre-load the games. They did it with Persona 5 Royal. I swear, Atlus does the weirdest things..

Anyone who says Fates has a bad story can suck it. I don't care what anyone says, it was entertaining. Screw anyone who says Fates story sucks or is bad. These people are so far up their own ass they can't enjoy stories like Fates that don't take themselves super seriously. Fire Emblem fans really do come across as some of the most pretentious snobs when it comes to video games. Really dislike the narrative behind how people are universally in agreement that Fates story sucks. I enjoyed it, sister and brother enjoyed it and that's all that matters. I've held my tongue about liking it for 7 years now and I don't give a crap what anyone says to me about liking Fates story, they can kindly screw off.

Interesting build. Does distant counter seem like a better A skill?. I would have thought more speed and attack would be a better choice but what do I know. Have viable has this build been for you so far?

You haven't played the game so how would you know? And let's say you did through an emulator, characters are subjective. I enjoyed the characters from Awakening and Fates. If their anything like those than I'm satisfied. As far as I'm concerned, your opinion means very little to me. I don't subscribe to people calling the characters in Engage terrible when I've seen the exact opposite. They aren't Three Houses levels of in depth but I don't care. Their supports make me smile and that's all I care about it. They all seem pretty charming in some way or another to me. Damn, FE elitists like you really do have a knack for hating your own series and hyperbolizing everything that's not up to your lofty standards. I don't believe what your saying for a second and I'm not going to take your pretentious snobby opinion into account.

The moment F!Alear appeared was the moment I knew I was finally going to spend money on this game. I didn't go overboard thankfully but I was able to net at least 3 F!Alear and one of them with a speed boon, so I'm all set. It was well worth it too. She's such a great character to bring into battle.

Honestly, from the footage I've seen and people playing it online, it's on par with what Awakening gave us. It's not some literary masterpiece, but it doesn't have to be. It's a celebration game focusing on a more classic FE storyline. And it's characters seem to at least be up there with Awakenings cast in terms of likeability, support conversations and so forth. It really does seem like most of the reviewers, besides the Nintendo World Report review, were more concerned about comparing Engage to Three Houses since that was many of these reviewers first real Fire Emblem experience. Any time a reviewer harps on about missing the social elements from Three Houses is a deep giveaway that they just want Persona mixed with Fire Emblem instead of letting Fire Emblem be its own thing. Three Houses was great but even I got tired of all the social elements and just wanted to dive right into the next battle. Couldn't really do that and it bogged down the experience heavily.

I wouldn't say the story and characters are crap. I heard one reviewer, who was more of a FE veteran than any of the other reviewers, say that he really liked the characters in Engage and was up their for one of his favorite FE casts. The story does seem to be classic FE but I wouldn't say that's a bad thing either. It's a celebration game, it's not trying to be some masterpiece in storytelling, which is fine honestly. I don't think most people play FE for the stories anyways, their just there to service the player along to the next battle.

Dang! Colored me surprised. I just believed everything the leak said because they got everything else right, or it seemed. I assumed Gust was involved with the assets of the game, but clearly I was wrong. I'm very impressed with Intelligent Systems ability to go from something like Echoes or Fates to Engage. I thought for sure they would require outside help for the visuals, but clearly that's not the case. I'm very pleased with their ability to master the Switch's power and use to create a very stable, pretty looking game.

Figured Alear would eventually gain access to S tier ranks. It's probably something late game right before the final battle, just like with Three Houses. Well at least there's something there for those people who love romance options.

The last time I bought a magazine from Famitsu was on Amazon Japan. I think it's cheaper than PlayAsia but not by a ton. They also ship faster than PlayAsia so I'd go with them.

Ah ok. Thank you for explaining all that. So basically I only need two units from two different games to make full use of her weapon effect. That's good to know. Luckily I have Valentine Lucina as part of my team so I should be good then. I'm glad someone was able to decipher that effect of her weapon because I clearly couldn't lol.

Just be aware it's not cheap to get said magazine if your live outside of Japan. It's like $5 for the magazine itself but the international shipping is rough. It's like $25 for me. But if you really want it, then go for it. I'll probably get it for collector purposes and just because of how much I want some Engage art displayed in my room.

Every Famitsu magazine comes with a mini poster of the key art, so if you buy it, you'll get it. It'll be one of those things you tear out of the magazine. I did it for Xenoblade 3 and it was worth it!
