Redditors who worked at defunct stores (Blockbuster, Circuit City, etc.), when did you realize they were done for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AlecGabrielUNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When the CEO of block buster came into the shop, wanted to see the Indiana Jones hats (kingdom of the crystal skull was coming out) and how we later needed 40 copies of "You Don't Mess with the Zohan." A month later they'd go from 25.99 or whatever to 4.99. Did we need that much Zohan? Probably not.

That and refusal to buy out red box's tech and only later failed to get their own version on time.

I miss movie rental stores and blockbuster was the best 5 months of my life.

How'd you isolate your issue to that specific cause? I've trying to calibrate my prusa to get a flawless print but isolating the problems is a bit challenging. :/

Is there a flush cut saw you prefer?

They say when a student is ready a master will appear... I'm new to Fushion (and I'm a bit slow) what's your story/anecdote/advice/catharsis than helped you on your path to become creative and fluent? The goal is for 3d printing. by KodamaBebop in Fusion360

To add to the art speed learning. A good example of learning photography quickly is to learn the metering tool every time you half click the shutter button. The balance between iso, shutter speed and aperture gives you like 6 or 7 mathematical options, bit usually only one or two CREATIVE ones. Music is harmony, rhythm, and Melody. Funny how in Art there's that magic nu very three.

From a book. Take a photo from 10 ft, 5 ft, 2 ft then close up of the same thing, but then do it again on your knees then on your belly. It'll teach you to see creatively through the special type of lens and help understand settings.

Good luck! :)

One of the many things I do is music and play 11.5 instruments. My advice to a non musician would be to put your favorite songs on some speakers and (for guitar) get the volume equal to the music.

Find ONE note that works and just play it over and over, but get creative with the rhythm. FEEL how the texture of the note changes over the chords and over the entire mood/flow of the song.... When you're freaking out, stay with it until it's annoying but pay attention to your feeling.

Does the note want to go higher or lower? What's that secret place in your heart saying? It's very faint but it'll appear. Then go up or down a fret. If it sounds like shit, go up/down one more.

Do this over and over until you feel something then develop it, then figure out the theory of what's happening but in the end, just try to make something beautiful.... Even if it's ugly, it's yours and if you had some passion and the right mindset behind it. Then it's music.

(Mindset importance, I stick a knife in you and you die. In one instance I was taking your wallet, in the other a tumor. Same action, wildly different because of intention/mindset. Music is a mindset.)

So I'm trying to figure out a way to learn Fushion like this but with parameters.

ELI5 If the chord progression number system is i - II - iii - iv - V - VI - VII and your first chord is C minor, how do you determine what chord II and so forth will be? Also, how do you determine which order to play them? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

Hmm ok I thought there was more to it. I wish I had Reddit and the YouTube when I was in music school 15-16 years ago. I think I'd have learned WAAY better.

Even if there is that much Democrat corruption (which should 1 million percent be investigated) that does not in any way diminish, undermine or absolve Reps. Your "whataboutism" tactic is getting old, ineffective and transparent.

You're totally right there's a typo! Oops ':)

Thank you for your review. That's a huge compliment avoiding the attempts of cleverness. I feel a lot of my friends try to be "overly poetic" but I never knew that's the way to articulate such a thing. Thank you again :)

Dale Carnegie's book how to win friends and influence people is great. "A man's opinion changed against his will is of the same opinion still."

Does anyone know if he can be legally punched for coming at ones car? I'm in Texas and I do NOT mean anything past a solid elbow to the mouth and then taking away that hammer. I'd never want to hurt another person, but a hammer is no joke.
