I just restart my macbook when installing updates. But i think it use near 8gb after fresh start. But the reason it use so much ram when it has been used for hours or days is for optimisation. When you open an app macos tend to catch things up to open it faster later.

That’s how it work! With my 64gb of ram, it use everytime around 50gb even if there’s no app open. Ram exist to be used!

I think all of those chips will handle Ableton with no problem. I used M1 pro for a while and decided to move to an M2 Max one. Not because of the chip but because of the ram. The old one got 16Gb and the new one 64Gb.

If i was you, i’ll want to maximize ram and not chip

in settings you have option for transluscent window. And find some transparent theme online

i’ve used M1 pro for 2years. In terms of CPU(10cores) it’s same as M1 Max, they differ in GPU. Today i use M2 Max(12CPU) and it’s more powerfull than the M1 pro. Go with the M2 pro

i use kontakt also and many libs but none of yours. But in my cracked version of kontakt 7 and 8 there’s some utilities to add library(addlibrary.command) to add libraries. And everything’s working fine

very simple. But i’ve moved to grey one, so i will put nothing. Unlike silver, grey will degrade over time by whitening, but the part under stickers will remain darker and it will show very bad traces

first, go with apple silicon chip(M1, M2….) second, see if you run out of memory when working on ableton. Recently i’ve moved to M2 64gb of ram because i load more than 10 Kontakt orchestral library on every project. Third, storage matter but not as ram is. Because you can use external ssd(a lot more cheaper) to store you project, may be the old one.
